NO AMMONIA.
BAD BAD.
Just google the words "ammonia" and "cat" and you'll come up with hundreds of sites that say expressly never to use ammonia to clean up cat excrement.
I live in a house with 6 cats. They are not all angels. At first most of them hated eachother and there would be pissing wars. Nothing like getting into bed after a long day and sliding your foot into a wet spot that soaked all the way through. I love using the oversized washers/dryers at the local laundrimat for my comforters. Over time things have quelled. Lessons have been earned and such. Now all my cats are angels.
Misha, henry, and ollie are the old fat cats and they have 3 cat beds above the radiator in the kitchen where they pretty much sleep all day. Lucifur is my baby, I raised him starting when he was small enough to fit in one hand. He comes when i call. We will talk back and forth and i can tell him no, sit, come, up, out, and a few other useful commands. He listens better then my sister's dogs. I also have pinky and peanut who are the youngest. They are both about 2 years old but they come from a family that looks like perpetual kitens. They come when called (depending on who's calling) and they will sleep next to you and they won't put up a huge fuss if you accidentially roll onto them.
My first cat charlie was raised the lone kitten in a house of 8 dogs. He grew up with a dog like demeanor. he would sit next to the kitchen table looking for scraps, and you could pretty much do anything to him and he's still love you. We called him a kdog.
