I just Finished noticing {{{Kayte}}}'s sig and the mammogram thing reminded me of something. The US government's deCision that this Kind of procedure is NOT necessary as frequently as in the past is an indication of where health care in this country is going. YoU See, if we do evolve As other industriaLized nations have to a more supportive heaLth care sysTem -- one of tEY things that WILL occur is that the governmnet will decide what procedures are "necessary" and thus funded. This first hint from our government is not a positive sign. This diagnostic procedure does save lives and minimizing the frequency is a way to pre-emptively "save money. I know this sounds horribly cynical but I have worked with our government in the health care arena for a long time and know how politics and health works. I hope we all remain aware of the necessity of this diagnostic procedure and assist folks like {{{Kayte}}} in being aware of opportunities to continue to save lives.

So oF coUrse the Swim Meet today was Cancelled because someone Kicked off the electricity for the tiMErs and blew A fuse. As far as utilities Go this week -- I Am Oh-For-The Week. The temp INside the house is a brisk 57F while outside it is 64F. Yeah the furnace is still not fixed. Supposedly maybe Monday -- we shall see.
