Fruitcake: yea or nea?

Preparing my traditional Italian fruitcake tomorrow. Always makes me think of what Johnny Carson used to say, "There's only one fruitcake in the world and it just keeps being given to someone else each year."

I've found that most people have strong opinions of fruitcake. So what's yours? Like it or not? Light or dark? Soaked in alcohol or "virgin"? What alcohol do you use??

Okay, I admit it.....I'm bored.

I enjoy it. I have found that buying it is much cheaper than making it yourself. Besides, I like the tradition of it.

My grandmother will make a stacked fruitcake. It's completely unlike any other fruitcake.

Or maybe she'll make her fried apple pies. I like them better, maybe it's time to call and put in my request.

shhhh sweetie! it's not anti-fruitcake ......it just to see where they anti-fruitcakers are!!

I have 5 lbs of the stuff right now soaking up some sherry and rum as we speak!!
