I still stand by Bush. I'm glad he's our president over Gore because otherwise, we'd be fucked up the ass with Deb's dildo, in my view. Ashcroft is the biggest mistake in politics. He sucked in Missouri and he sucks where he's at now. I want the man gone because he wants more government.

The government has no right to tell me what I can or cannot purchase. It has no right to tell me what I can or cannot use. It has no right to define obscenity for me because that's a value judgement. It has no right to tell me how to take care of my children. It has no right to tell me how to live my life. Ashcroft crosses that line. He's no better than Joseph McCarthy or Himmler.

Now, where did Kat go? I have my Supersoaker 3000 loaded down with chocolate sauce.

Ashcroft needs the axe, no doubt! But to stand behind Bush means to stand behind the very real possibility of losing those very rights you hold so dear, as we all do.

Are you aware of the threat of Bush's administration trying to allow our tax dollars to be turned over to the church to set policy? What kind of rights do you think we'll have if that happens? If we don't fight those that would reverse our country's policy of separation of church and state, there will be anarchy in the streets. And I'll be among the throngs. Oh, btw, KM, can I borry that Supersoaker, I'm gonna need it out there! ;)

Roe v. Wade might not be overturned on its face, but there are numerous ways the court could limit its application. Which, is just as bad, in my opinion.

And they can't wipe out porn, but they sure can try their hardest to limit it and descrease our ability to access it. They can harrass those who run porn sites, or porn stores. They can do various things to truly limit our freedoms regarding the matter.

What I find interesting is people who are so open-minded about sex, supporting a party that thinks anything beyond missionary position for procreation is some sick twisted deviation.

When I think about a Republican being in office right now I think of many things about sexual privacy:

Sodomy and fornication laws that are still on the books

Same - sex marriages

Same-sex couples legal rights

Gay protection under Title VII

There are so many I can't even begin to list them all. These are issues that simply will have to wait for a more liberal group in office. It's a fucking shame.

I agree completely. I found your observation intersting and near comical that some people who are very open-minded about sex still back parties supported by the close-minded Falwell types. It IS amazing, isn't it? I never did understand the Bible Belters anyway. But then what do you expect from a devout atheist?

lavy!!!!!

Lavy, that's silly.

First of all, I don't "support" the Republican party. And as a Democrat, are you saying you agree with absolutely everything they stand for?

Of course not.

There will never be any substantial change in Roe v. Wade that will effect a woman's ability to have an abortion. Period. There is simply too much support for it. Regardless of how conservative a Supreme Court may be, even they wouldn't have the balls to change it. Can you imagine how Americans would react?

I'm not worried about the porn thing. It ain't gonna happen.

What amazes me is how people get upset about Roe v. Wade being overturned or limiting their access to books/magazines, while at the same time look in the other direction while other freedoms are being whittled away.
