But he did. The Heroes managed to subdue T’calcath, transported him to a research facility on a backwater jungle planet, and plunged him through a prototype hypergate onto a distant prison planet trapped within a void. A world with cracked rock beneath him and an endless red sky above. There he stayed, driven mad by rage and hate, obsessing over his plans of eventual escape and revenge…

Descending deeper into his own inner darkness, he discovered a vast reserve of raw potential, allowing him to command the space around him to warp into an illusion of any twisted reality he could imagine. But that’s all it was – an illusion. No matter how many ways he might envision torturing his enemies and exploring different worlds, he was still a prisoner. Trapped on that little red planet, wrapped in a blanket of his own delusions, slowly going mad…

As time passed, the jungle facility was abandoned, and the advanced alien races eventually moved on to other galaxies. Thousands of years came and gone, but for the immortal T’calcath, time was meaningless in his void of seclusion. Meanwhile, the people of a previously-overlooked planet were beginning to discover the early potential of technology. At first it was crude weapons and machines, but eventually they reached for the stars. That world was Earth, and the humans began exploring nearby systems.

In what humans called “the year 2402,” a group of space explorers discovered the jungle planet that housed the abandoned facility used to imprison T’calcath. Enthralled by their first encounter with ancient alien ruins, the humans soon mounted research efforts to unlock the facility’s secrets, and by the year 2407 there were dozens of scientists and archaeologists setting up shop.

For a young woman fresh out of high school, a chance to mentor under one of the researchers for a summer was an opportunity she could not refuse. She soon found herself on a ship to the jungle planet – named Medivia by the humans – under the wing of the renowned Dr. Andor Eiberdoss.

But does fate favor fortune for this young girl? Some would say not, for it is difficult to look kindly upon a malfunctioning hypergate that plunges one into the arms of an ancient villain...

She had little social life, as most of her time was spent nose in a book learning about the past. She had learned early on that the books didn't tell the whole truth. That's part of why she loved archaeology so much, it discovered truths that had been skewed. Little things that help build a bigger picture.

When given the opportunity to apply for an internship for the summer, she jumped at it. A planet full of trees and foliage. Things the planet she lived on hadn't seen in hundreds of years actually existed on a non terraformed planet. She was going to be joining an existing team and work under the renowned Dr. Andor Eiberdoss.

There were alien ruins to examine and excavate. Though mainly she supposed she would be getting coffee and food. But still on her free time she'd be able to explore this new world. Though she'd technically only have two weeks due to time it took the ship to get there. Still it was better then nothing.

Being the organized type she was packed, and at the station before the additional team members that would be joining. She wished everyone could be as punctual, it was truly quite annoying that some were even a minute late. This was the first time she was ever leaving her planet. It was quite excited to be boarding the space ship, given a quick tour, and showed to her pod which she had to share with a female researcher. She had a ton of questions but wasn't really the social type. As luck would have it neither was the researcher Jane.

In the two weeks it took her to get there. She became a pro at the ins and outs of ship life. In order to get the breakfast she wanted she had to be up early and order it from the distribution machine. The machine only held a certain amount of each item. When it was gone you were s.o.l. She was a big fan of fruits. It was what allowed her to stay so healthy. When she worked out on her exercise machine she would often set it to hiking mode through the forest and mountains. It helped her pass the physical that was required for the internship.

Gwen was ecstatic when the ship finally landed. Everyone coughed a bit as their lungs took their first breath of real air. It was the most refreshing thing she'd ever experienced. The air was full of natural oxygen from the tree's and plants. Because so little was known about this planet they weren't allowed to explore outside the marked areas for safety. This was slightly disappointing, and within a few days she found herself going a little bit further.

Having brought her portable recorder with her. She often sat with the sounds of the jungle in the background and watched her favorite old time tv show Lucifer. She had a thing for shows that existed in the 21'st century.
Dr. Eiberdoss, had given his interns a contest quiz. Those that aced it were allowed to assist him on the gate they discovered. Of course Gwen had the highest score and got to work side by side with him.

The hyper-gate was alien technology, there was some speculation as to its purpose but there was much more that needed to be known about it. Staying late one day after the others had left for their tents. It began to rain as she was sweeping away the dirt from a rune. Standing up in a hurry she slipped and hit something on the gate. The next thing she knew she was whirled through the gate and landed on a patch of red dirt. It was dry heat that she inhaled through her nostrils. As she looked around she deducted that she had some how gone through the gate, though it was no longer able to be viewed.

Terrified, was the best emotion that could describe her at this moment. There seemed to be nothing and no one around. After an hour of walking she came upon a small cave where she curled up for the night. Tomorrow she would have to find water.

T'calcath continued his eternal obsession with revenge, but then, suddenly, something was different. The air shifted, and for a brief moment, he thought he smelled tropical moisture somewhere in his deserted void. And then... something more feminine. Was that... perfume? Shifting into a cloud of black smoke, he rose up out of the tunnels he had turned into his lair, and began soaring over the red dirt below, searching the planet for the source of the scent.

He soon came upon one of the world's large sand plains, the feminine smell becoming stronger. He traced it to one of the isolated caves, discovering a strange woman asleep inside. She was... beautiful. Curled up, slumbering uncomfortably as the red sky outside faded to black as night fell. He had to know more about her.

Still hovering as the black cloud in the dark cave, he extended a smoky tentacle that pressed gently on the woman's forehead, giving him a brief glimpse into her mind. Her dreams. Her memories. He was not able to read her thoughts clearly or discern a palatable image of her personality, but managed to absorb some of her knowledge of language and speech and a vague understanding of her species and where they come from.

He would have attempted to delve deeper and uncover more, but it seemed the short trip into her mind as disturbed her sleep enough to wake her. He quickly shot to the other side of the cave and watched as she lifted her head to look around in the darkness, not knowing how he should react after having been isolated for so long. Perhaps out of desperation or swift thinking, he shifted form again, assuming the image of the man he had seen clearest in her dreams.

He spawned the image of a suit and an alcoholic beverage and then snapped his fingers, causing an artificial beam of light to appear behind him, allowing the woman to see him. He held the glass in one hand and slipped the other in his pocket, just staring at her for a moment. He then smiled and spoke in a Welsh accent.

"Hello darling, sorry to have disturbed you. I was simply... admiring the beauty that was dropped on my doorstep."

Her eyes squinted to the beam of light and at first blurred figure. As her eyes adjusted she saw and heard Tom Ellis, the actor that played Lucifer in her favorite 21st century show. I'm 'hallucinating' she thought rubbing her eyes. "You're not real, I must be dehydrated." she said in a soft almost inaudible voice.

"I've got to be dreaming still or something. You can't be here." Her voice more clear this time. Pinching herself she cried "ouch", and still looked at the man in a dreamy disbelief. "Who are you?" she questioned sitting up and pulling her knees to her chest.

Her emotions were conflicted. First she was looking at a man she had dreamed of for many years. A man whose silky welsh accent tickled her inner being into a wave of intellectual, and physical stimuli. But secondly the fact she was in a place she didn't know, with no hope of finding a way back. This couldn't be Tom Ellis he had died hundreds of years ago. Which led her to the only conclusion that this was in fact an alien.

Like humans aliens could be good or bad. The question remained...what kind was he? Obviously he went through the motions to put forth a face that would be comforting to her. "Is there water on this planet?" was the only other thing she could think of asking.
