Friends with Benefits: Guidelines and Suggestions

I wish sometimes that my mind worked in a manner that would allow me to be comfortable with a "friend with benefits" but it doesn't. It would be easier, my schedule is hellish and I know that realistically I don't have the time to dedicate to a relationship to be able to nourish it but........I just can't wrap my mind around the FwB thing.

I've had many in the past few years, sometimes 3 or 4 at any given time. Those days are (recently) over now, and I have to say that I'm not unhappy about it.

The one friend I was especting to have benefits was lovely. He treated me like a human being all the time, cared about my needs on many levels, we could talk about anything for hours on end, and we always exspected to "be together" as friends someday.

Sadly, things changed before our someday came. A lot of my poems are dedicated to him includeing Eros I & II.

Which is a long winded way of saying I understand G-Girl, as I have pesky morals too, but this one person made me feel so comfortable in our friendship that the sexual side would have just been a further extention of our friendship, and wouldn't have changed the other parts in anyway.

If that makes sense.

My family already has one heavy metal band in it out of Seattle (DXD) and my daughter is studying vocals at a music school here in Anchorage and her teacher says she has a wonderful voice.

A lot of our friends are in Drama etc and some of my old classmates are or have been in somethings.

Being in Alaska right now, I don't have many connections, but I'm working towards a day when I will.

Its not a morals thing though. I'm an emotional person, I know that about myself. Part of offering my body to someone is offering a part of my soul to them. I don't take my soul lightly.

Like I said, I think to damn much. Sometimes I'd love to shut all of that stuff in my head up and just let go.

If you look over at the "Haven't had sex in 5 years thread" and read some of my poems, I think that you would see that we are of the same mind in re: to that.

Rules should apply to everyone, equally, or they aren't fair, don't you think?

And I don't understand about friends being temps...You mean temp lovers? Temp friends?

I like to hope all my friends are LTR, tho for some people some friends have more benefits of friendship than others; hence the title.

Edited to add that my post isn't "rules" but suggestions and guidelines, and everyone makes their own choices as adults.

really, what we're looking for is audience feedback, so if you're willing to listen, i'd surely send you the songs

I already do that for an online service. I listen to bits and give feedback and tell them what I liked or didn't like about the song and then they use that to deside which songs to push...er promote...on radio stations.

One of the features there is "Discover the Band" and if I help them find new talent, I get some bucks.

Actually a PA does more like keep your schedule straight, make sure people who annoy you don't, keeps the press off your back, makes sure the things you need are there when you need them and they things you don't are far, far away. lol.

A typical PA will make sure that by the time your out of the stuido you have time for your hair and makeup, your dress is ready, you have a wonderful gift so that an hour later you can be at the party of a "close personal friend" whose name and wifes name I'll slip you in the car will thank you for being so thoughtful and kind.
