Article on Pets and the attack and how to give help

Humane Society of the United States

The New York Center for Pet Rescue started the rescue of the pets in New York.

If you have a pet in the City the number to call is....

1-888-567-8123

This is an important feature of the recovery process and they need your financial help too, so if you can give for the pets, that would be appreciated too.

I am still seeking out info on volunteering, but I am working hard to get to New York to aid in the Pet rescue effort.

I am still having problems finding out how to get involved in the rescue effort, so if anyone has ANY info that may help me...
Please let me know.

I will proceed tonight, to find out what I can do to get there and give my physical help.

I will be sure to post if I am going, before I leave.

Thank you for your efforts in ALL areas of this tragedy, to help those suffering, have some peace.

Laurel.... could you please sticky this for a while? Thank you.

Thank you Shadow, but I am still having one hell of a time finding out if going to NY is going to be worth my time.

Is there anyway to find out how to volunteer?
I can't call that number (it is out of my calling range) so I can't ask if they need help?

I am going to look into shelters in the area now.

If you are in the NYC area, could you look in the phone book and find out if there are rescue agencies, and provide me with some phone numbers?

I am specifically looking for The New York Center for Pet Care and Control.

Thank you for your concern.

Fishy

I will PM you my phone number and some other stuff.

Got it and right back at you...

Here is a link for the rest of you, to the NY Center for Animal Care and Control

They have a supply wish list, and they need donations, so if you can help save someone's pet and give them food untill they are reunited with their owners, or adopted, then you are a wonderful human being. If you can't, you can pray/chant/think good thoughts/vibe out in the name of those trapped and suffering, animals and people, in NYC, and be a wonderful human being.

If I can or can't go to volunteer, (depends on them) I am going to look into adopting a dog from them, that was left behind by the death of it's owner.

I know I'd want my pet babies to have a good family if something were to happen to David and I.
