Friday the 13th

I know I'm sometimes slow, but I only just realized it's Friday the 13th. I've never been particularly superstitious but suddenly I'm begining to wonder....

Last night around 1:30 am, I walked outside (as I often do late at night) and noticed the neighbor's solid black cat sitting on my back driveway. I entered my house through the back door, so I guess (technically) it crossed my path. This morning, I noticed a small crack in my bathroom mirror (I don't know when it happened, I just noticed it this morning).

Now, I just realized it's Friday the 13th. I am looking out my window at the ladder I left leaning against a tree in the front yard (I was trimming tree limbs yesterday). I think maybe, I should just leave it there..... I'm sure I can put it away tomorrow just as easily.... No reason to tempt fate..... That would be impudent.

hey... dont fret.. i'm the same way now... especially after october 13 last year (a friday).... i fell down the stairs and spent a week on crutches.. and believe me that's one of the worst things on a college campus

Luckily though it's nearly over in the UK.

Now if I can just get through the next six hours...

When I was a kid... I had a lucky rabbit's foot... until someone pointed out to me that it had not been very lucky for the rabbit.

I was facing the mirror..... and believe me.... when I look into a mirror first thing in the morning..... I feel unlucky enough as it is...

You've just hit upon the big debate I was having before I posted.

Firstly I was going to put rabbits foot. Then I thought the more pedantic on the Board might point out that rabbit's don't feet. So then I decided on rabbit's paw. But I had problems with the sound of that and I also thought all the animal rights people may start sending hate mail.

So in the end I chickened out and chose horseshoe.

A nice non-conroversial, metallic, non-living horseshoe. Hasn't got the same ring to it but it will have to do.

That's why my post was late and Mensa got in first.

Anyway I've only got five and a half hours to go now.

It's kind of strange, but Friday the 13th has always been a LUCKY day for me. Also, my moms birthday is tomorrow and she's the sweetest lady in the world so hoepfully I'm protected from bad luck
