Several months a go a 76 year old granny was arrested for being rude to a young cop at a local McDonalds. He couldnt get his car around her, laid on the horn, and she gave him the finger.
He then confronted her, she got sassy with him, and he arrested her.
The charge was obstructing a private drive, and the maximun penalty was an $88 fine. Granny refused to pay the fine.
The state attorney decided to prosecute her.
In the meantime the young cop was fired for lying and unprofessional conduct involving another case. He gave a kid some chewing tobacco inspite of the parent's refusal for the kid to have it (and it was illegal).
The judge acquitted granny of the charge. You do have a right to be rude to a cop. You do have a right to call a young cop a brat, and flip him off.
The whole deal likely cost taxpayers $10,000.
