Who got the Freeserve 24/7 connection as he is disabled...
They booted his ass off their 24/7 services because he was online between 17 and 19 hours a day, and was depriving other users of the opportunity to be online because of the way he hogged the service.
This was after he had paid to have ISDN fitted for which you have to commit for 12 months.
All this happened last year so this post is just a vent...
Freeserve and BT (Parent company as was) ripped him off and 15,000 other customers for using a 24/7 access when they wanted to during the day.
Freeserve informed him that on a 24/7 access package you should not be online more than 12 hours a day... But if you bought their new and improved off peak service you could surf from 06:00 PM till 08:00 AM with NO RESTRICTIONS... Duuuuurrrrr that is 14 hours a day for half the money to surf 12 hours a day (on the 24/7 package).
Then in the middle of this fight the Local Cable company announced it was going to do his area within 3 months, they completed the work and he now has a cable modem and a faster service than he would ever have got on BT and Freeserve.
Mutter mutter Freeserve and BT.....................
EZ
Fight for disabled rights before it is to late for "you" to fight
Phew that feels better to get that vent out of the way...
As to your problem today about being booted all the time.
Is it the normal system boot? If it is you can sometimes get around the interupt signal by adding a line or two of text to the advanced options in the dialup networking box.
Try the line "s10=100" without the quote marks this should increase the tenacity of your comp to ignore a standard disconnect signal from your ISP's server.
I worked for me in the past when I was on standard dailup networking in the London area.
