For you political Animals.:)

The author makes a point that; one assumes much when one speaks for another. It was interesting that he makes the point while speaking against it.

It does not surprise me that animals have emotions and interior motivations, nor that trainers who can not read the body language well get squashed.

I think it's well known that dogs and cats dream, and there's no reason to think other mamals don't do the same. It's also well known that animals will turn on a trainer or other person who mistreats them or has mistreated them previously. I have heard elephants do not forget. I don't believe that, but I do believe they remember things and can and do take action against people they dislike.

People underestimate the 'lesser forms', perhaps to avoid facing their own real impact on the earth. They avoid accepting that animals are individuals, rather that servants to do their bidding.

Horses have personalities and memories, dogs, rabbits even, once you get to know them. Chickens are less endowed and turkeys are stupid.

Think "Black Beauty" and about the blind pit ponies in British coal mines. mankind has given the animal kingdom more that enough cause to demand retribution.

 What if they formed a union!
