But the compilers of the Bible got the dimensions of The Ark wrong. If it took two of every species that survived the Flood it would have been larger than any possible wooden ship could have been constructed.

Perhaps it was an Armada of Arks?

Animals may have been much smaller then. . .

And there are a few who actually believe that the Ark can still be found.
I think I'll stick to science. I'll talk to my own God in my own way.

A colleague once demanded I justify my atheism to him. I hardly thought it worthwhile, but he pestered me until I finally gave in:

"You want to know why I don't believe in an invisible being that tells people what to do? You're a psychologist: figure it out."

According to family legend, I became an atheist at the age of five when I returned from Sunday School and told my God-fearing grandmother: ‘It can’t be true. If you had invented people, you wouldn’t be mean to them.’ End of story.

I've said for many years that the biggest problem with religion was it got organized. All downhill after that.

As far as I see it, God doesn't tell people what to do; he tells one or two and they tell the people.
Of course, one cannot always guarantee that such second-hand data is reliable.

PS:
Just seen this one:-

And there's even more interesting details of this case. It seems the road was also a major access to the highway to Cincinnati, and outsiders also had fine problems. The State legislature passed a law requiring that lie police monitor the road and cameras. That was why they bought the new cars. Then they made it easier for the observer patrolman by building a shelter with the camera monitors as well as a fridge, a microwave, and a tv hooked up to premium cable.

And on the other point, One or two people tell other people that "god" told them what to tell the others to do.

Hysteria disappeared as a disease with the spread of woman's suffrage. It seems the power of the right to vote kept a uterus from wandering!

Many many years ago, our fifth form English class had Forster’s ‘A Room with a View’ as one of the set texts. Our English master had a slight speech impediment. His version of the work was ‘A Womb with a View’.

‘Was the view only apparent after the meat curtains had been parted?’ one of my fellow students enquired.

Sir frowned.

I had an earth science professor in college that had a very twisted sense of humor. You could always expect something like this on an exam:

"What is the technical explanation of an earthquake?" with one of the multiple choice options being:

"Mother Nature is having an orgasm."

Where can I obtain a decent copy?
[You Tube's version is well screwed up]

Other than maybe finding it on eBay or Amazon, I have no idea.

I doubt if it's something that would pop up in the middle of an "Are You Being Served" marathon, but with that unique sense of humor you British have, you never know . ;)

It was the way she delivered the line; got you every time !

I do have to admit a big part of my fascination with AYBS (and most British comedies of that era) was their freedom to do the play-on-words thing so effortlessly while we in the US were busy having arguments over whether showing a toilet or anything but twin beds in a married couple's bedroom would lead to the immediate destruction of all moral fabrics.
