Interesting;
We got wearmer weather; it's rising to +7C at present.

We were dealing with those kinds of temperatures all last week. This week, the air conditioning is back on. Northern Florida can't ever decide whether we have winter or not.

I imagined that Floriday is too near the equator to be afrfected by 'winter', somehow.

You have to remember that Florida is a weird state. Those of us in the panhandle up against Alabama and Georgia are far enough north to see the occasional snowflake every few years. We actually had a dusting just last week when the massive arctic front came through. I built a one-foot tall snowman back in the mid-1990's when we got about a half inch here in Pensacola.

Now mid-state Orlando and further south it's a true rarity. The last time Miami saw snowflakes was 1977 and Key West has never had a frost much less even a peppering of snow in its recorded history.

I have childhood memories of snowy November 5ths in The Cotswolds. These days you normally have to wait until mid-December, and sometimes early January, to see any real snow. Or maybe I can't really remember what I can remember. :)

I remember seeing film (!!) of the RAF Helicopters flying emergency supplies to stranded hill farmers on the moors in the South west. The Giles cartoons that also appeared in synch were very good.

I remember my first white Christmas; I was about 7 and at my Grandparents place in the east midlands.

Why am I thinking I'm about to hear one of those stories about having to walk 12 miles to school in two foot of snow...and it was uphill both ways. ;)

To qualify for those stories, JKD, you have to be from 'up North'. HP and I are Southerners. :)

According to my family, still in the more Northern reaches of this glorious land, I still qualify (I married a Yorkshire Gal, a long time ago). And "Southerners" is generally restricted to the South East.
And that's definitely not me !

That sounds like how you get ranked when you live in the "Good Ol' Boy South" over on this side of the pond. I've been in Florida for thirty years now and they still consider me a Yankee because I grew up in Ohio.

At that point, I usually get in trouble by reminding them we kicked their butts 150 years ago and tend to still do it every time Ohio State plays Alabama in football. :D

And drink your Beer with huge, shit-eatin' grin

And while grabbing a hand full of popcorn from their bowl too. :D

.

I was never that keen on popcorn; I'll eat it, but it's not that pleasureable.
[please excuse spelling errors. I've been having trouble with a keyboard.]

Those sufficiently interested might enjoy Santa, currently being tracked by NORAD [at least], will shortly be round Hawaii. Merry Christmas ! And a big THANK YOU to the crews of the E3 Sentry!

Happy Christmas to everyone.

I'm celebrating! I've just submitted the third and final chapter of my story Christmas Fairy that has been outstanding as incomplete since November 2004! It was difficult writing in a style that I abandoned 13 years ago - but it's done. Only one more incomplete series to finish. Will I do that before the end of 2017? It's possible.

Now for some more wine, then bed.

Boxing Day is also when you try to figure out whether or not you will ever get the kitties to give up the empty Christmas boxes. :D
.
We found that when the cat/s rushed to their food bowl, the boxes would be screwed up and binned; The cats didn't seem to mind; they found alternatives;l usually the bed

I'm not surprised.

My Gas Boiler hs stopped heating. I am c c cold

Good luck with that, HP. :)

Almost as bad as being put on hold by the suicide hotline.

The good news is that a man called just after lunch and managed to fix it. The house is just getting warm now.

I love it!

Have the icicles melted from your nipples yet? :D

Even worse than being put on hold by the suicide hotline is how sad it now is that you can get a pizza delivered quicker than you can get a cop to your door. :(
