Oh, definitely.
His first edition of Prof. Ackerman's "On Blood" is well-thumbed.

Three different directions occur to me for an association.
1. Sister Fidelma mysteries, seventh century A.D., by Tremayne. I've really enjoyed those, she's a dalaigh of the Irish court, which is kind of like a lawyer but also an investigator.
2. G.K. Chesterton's Father Brown stories popped to mind, though that's a much more tenuous connection.
3. Finally, there is a Harry Potter connection in my brain on the blood angle but it won't be more clear than that. :rolleyes:

What about Bleak House? In the end, the only winners are the lawyers. :(
