I think the most useful thing I discovered, was learning what it took to convince a twelve-year-old to keep the firm grip on the timber rattler he brought back to the campsite one day to find out what kind of snake it was. :eek:

It made an interesting side dish for dinner that night. ;)

The 1950's (not that I remember much of those first few years of life. ;) )

I remember the Coronation; it promoted the home TV set like nothing else.
That was 3rd June 1953. Queen Salote of Tonga, in her open carriage; it was raining !
