I tried to take part in an online survey recently. It refused to believe that anyone was at university in 1962.

Ted Kaczynski graduated from university (Harvard) in 1962. Not the most famous, but possibly the most infamous. I have a sneaking suspicion there were others, presumably nicer.

So there, stupid online survey!

I took a post graduate post in 1962. Now my qualifications are so ancient that very few younger people even know what they mean.

My final examination was part of a process devised in 1870 to select graduates who had not been to Oxford or Cambridge. 1962 was the LAST year that process was used.

Sounds like it's gone the way of the '5 Star General' rank in the U.S. Military.

Delivered in a pail. Straight from the dairy. :)

Down around Biloxi
Pretty girls are dancin' in the sea
They all look like sisters in the ocean
The boy will fill his pail with salty water
And the storms will blow from off towards New Orleans

Just because I like the melody line when it hits 'pail'.

In the town of Old Milwaukee
Back in 1982
He celebrated ___ (forget) years
Of makin' that famous brew

Masters of a taster's art
Milwaukee's #1
And he could fairly feel the flavor
As it swished across his tongue.

--Ray Stevens song best I can from memory... Haven't heard it myself in years. (Also, am "child of the '80s" who has only drank 1 glass of alcohol ever, as NYE became NYD when I was at least 30.)

Ahh... The great Ray Stevens - so many funny songs from my childhood.

Gitarzan

He's free as the breeze,
He's always at ease.
He lives in the jungle
And hangs by his knees,
As he swings through trees
Without a trapeeze,
In his BVD's.
A-hoo hoo!

He's got a union card
And he's practicin' hard
To play the gitar.
Gon' be a big star,
Yeah he's gonna go far.
An' carry moonbeams home in a jar!

He ordered Chet's guitar course COD,
Makes A&E an' he's workin' on B.
Digs C&W&R&B an' an' me an' a chimpanzee
Agree that one day soon he'll be,
A celebrity.
Get it!
Get it!
Get it!
Get it!
OWWWWWWWWW!

Gitarzan!
He's a gitar man!
He's all you can stand,
Give him a hand,
Gitarzan!

My father (a bass in our church's choir) used to sing along to every part when this came on the radio.

When I joined my school's Choir my Senior Year, the director told me she'd put me in the Basses. She sat everyone by section, & I waited in the hall with the Basses... Only to have her bring me in the room alone & tell me I'd be in the Tenors after all. (Wore Dad's old robe & filled his Bass spot in the church's Choir simultaneously.)

When I was growing up, sibling & I both sang in church's Children's Choir. We had a tape for a LONG time that had me reading a scripture, but think Dad rid of it after we played it for millions of friends & neighbors (not sue to my reading, but his same-week solo of "From a Distance").
