Only to the initiated.

No... The truly initiated & educated Americans know a great day is not possible as long as we are allowed to govern ourselves, & we may in fact prove better off with a King, Prime Minister, or some other sort of individual able to pass the laws on their own (who can only then be blamed as so many like to do when the campaign promises are not fulfilled).

Please forgive my ignorance, but I had [perhaps fondly] imagined that what existed in the US is actually a form of "an elected King," ie., one who proposes legislation which is,m in turn debated by that shrieking band of politicians in both houses.
(BTW, our shrieking bands are just as daft).

Don't forget we are a "constitutional monarchy." Our sovereign (may the Lord bless her) does not make Laws as such. She might suggest to her Prime Minister that she is unhappy about something and it would be a wise PM who tries to accommodate her wishes. She has some powers of her own, but, wisely, lets them lie, rather like a nuclear weapon lies unused, but available.

It is interesting to see THIS, our old Bill of Rights, 1689.

Not forgiving anything, mainly since you don't need to understand it due to the fact you don't (it seems) have to live in it (yet another separate reason not forgiving).
