Jack Rabbit in Kennywood... Only one I've ever ridden, 2 decades ago this Summer if Math is right.

Johnny Hodges, legendary alto saxophonist

(When asked about Hodges nickname, Rabbit, one of his friends said: ‘Oh, yes, when it came to the ladies, Johnny was definitely a jack rabbit.’) :)

Not wholly true, I feel, but sufficient unto the day ?

"If my true love, she were gone
I would surly find another
Where the wild mountain thyme
Grows among the purple heather.
Will ye go, lassie, go?"

or,

"Were she no longer true, Aileen aroon,
What should her lover do, Aileen aroon?
Fly with his broken chain
Far o'er the sounding main,
Never to love again, Aileen aroon."

Take your pick...

Taking my pick and shovel and Hi ho, hi ho. It's off to work I go.

:D

Being retired, I no longer do that but . . .
And it's off to ye doctors I go, where the Blood Demon is eager to take (more) samples.

I'm also officially retired, HP, and know the doctor drill all too well. There are days I feel like I have a whole new career as a health care guinea pig.

Your doctor use leeches?

Mine uses a very sexy looking vampiress. ;)

Snap! I had my 'blood day' yesterday. I think 'they' now have more of my blood than I do! :)

My lady vampyre is over 50, and she is the most gentle of needlers; I surprised her by asking if she could take the sample from the back of my hand; She had to think about it and do all sorts of things to my hand, but we succeeded. I hardly felt a thing!

I know this feeling; I'm beginning to think they have a secret stock of my blood.

I find tapping one of the carotid arteries is easy and quick; if I'm careful not to suck too hard, they heal very nicely and you'd hardly feel any pain at all. ;)

1] I tell lab workers I can stand the sight of blood, 'less it's my own.

2] I've also long said if they allow human cloning or do a major push for stem-cell research, I'll be top o' the list, since they already have a ton of mine... Irony, 'course, is reason for that is I've been diagnosed w/a million things, so why would they want another super-sick dude around?!

I don't have a problem with it; it is a renewable resource, after all. Besides, I've been doing it or having it done for research since undergrad days. Now, my brother-in-law...he faints at the thought of his blood filling the vial.

Well-aware it's renewable. However, I've seen (on real shows like "48 Hours" & fiction like "Castle") that DNA matching mine means real-good shot it's me... So why do they need to take blood every X-#-of months from me?! It's gonna say a lot of the same S--T!! Eventually, I'm scared they're gonna hit a point where they're taking it out (them plus cuts, bloody noses, etc.) faster than my body can make & pump it.

I keep thinking that's why they should have morgues as part of hospitals: They know eventually, what they're doing (they say to help humans) is gonna be what kills one of us.

It's not done repeatedly to establish your genome; it is to check for changes in any of the chemicals in your blood that may indicate health problems.

And hospitals do have morgues; they just don't publicize it. They do need a place to stash the dead ones until they are claimed and taken away. They do autopsies there as well, but not forensic ones, just medical assessments.

I enjoy getting blood drawn every three or four months. Especially when my 25+ year younger doctor looks at the lab report and asks how I can be so much older than him, fifty pounds overweight, still smoking, eating and drinking anything I want, and have BETTER bloodwork than he does? :D
