"And here face down beneath the sun
And here upon earth’s noonward height
To feel the always coming on
The always rising of the night:"

~Archibald MacLeish

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on that sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Dylan Thomas

The idea of fitness and general exercise is a bit of a mystery. I always reckoned it's case of "sufficient unto the day" etc., not arriving at your coffin looking as if you are 20 years younger.
Better, I think to arrive at your coffin, tired and shagged out, yelling "Wow - What a ride."

"The wages of sin is death--but after taxes have been taken out, it's more like a general tiredness..."

The road to nowhere's closed today
You've arrived here far too soon
The doorman's still in his swimming pool
Painting postcards of the moon

`I see nobody on the road,' said Alice.

`I only wish I had such eyes,' the King remarked in a fretful tone. `To be able to see Nobody! And at that distance, too! Why, it's as much as I can do to see real people, by this light!'

Nobody knows the trouble I've seen...
