I don't know why that makes me think of submarines.

Sardines!

One poster about over-crowding in Welsh medium schools said: Our children are not sardines! I mean, they said it in Welsh but I can't quite remember what sardines is (are?) in Welsh.

No no, it will come out all wrong if we just google it. It's probably something like: tinnedio sardineyummyos or just mmmmputitonmypizza. Welsh for microwave oven is pippity-ping. It's a very sensible language. In some ways.

Tai foong! that's a good one.

Seriously! Pippity-ping really is the name for microwave oven. They have also translated the place name 'the Midlands' and written on all road signs: Canalog Loegr. Which means "Middle of [hated accursed imperialist scumbag oppressors] England"

:D, that's a good Misquote! I'll leave it there for now in case Tio makes it back from the hospital and picks it up.

With three-speed Sturmey-Archer gears :)

I had bought 2nd hand an awesome custom-built racing bike that I loved, until I went head over handlebars into a hedge. I then had to walk the thing up a hill with bleeding knees 'cause I'd bent the front wheel. It took nearly 10 years for me to get over being pissed at myself; still don't own my own...

Yes.
But can one still get a bike with S-A gears? - very rarely
