I burped cos I was trying to muster all the contempt I had in my bones for HP skipping me. Not that I could care less?
But it was 55 mins after I posted, that he chose to respond to yours.

Yup...pedantry is not dead!

Gah, I am being a pedant today cuz I am marking some assignments. I'm going down the pages, saying:

Reference, reference, put in a reference. Harvard system, puhlease!

Oh well, you can give me a kiss if HP is skipping you. You owe me enough from your previous naughty skipping habits. (That one above does not count, cuz I gave you one back :) .)

done some of my marking today; counting ticks for 'proposition stated', voice, animated? points raised...the classes had to do a mini debate you see.

loved the Harvard system; helped me enjoy sociology; hated that other one...op cit, etc, etc.

I taught my class on referencing yesterday! It was fun, although I like best teaching quantitative methods. I assure the students there is no maths involved and give them these figures in table form to analyse:

Cats' preference:
Friskery whiskery biscuits - 9
Steak (well done) - 1
Total - 10

Which is the biggest number? Well done! see, you can read a table. :)

Dumbing down!

I know, but poor things, they are petrified that quants involves maths so they start off like rabbits in the headlights before they even look at what they are being asked to discuss in their assignments.

sounds like my students who don't want to read (because it involves masses of translation..which will be Chinglish anyway..) and had to debate issues (discrimination of women, educational policies: only had time for 2 issues this semester)..

and this should be a PM! lol

association Michael...wtf?
Kangaroo shooting, with spotlights at night. Hanging the bloody carcasses up on racks on the back of the 'ute. Shooting more.

Mmm! charming. We have come a long way from weeping over poor Mr Percival, LOL.

The new Welsh crime drama Hinterland[/I]. It started well, and there were fabulous shots of the mid-Wales landscape in it. But it all went a bit weird at the end with a rambling story about ... God, I can't even remember what it was all about in the end. There was lots of unprofessional screwing of witnesses, LOL. In one of the earlier episodes there was a bunch of Welsh boyos who would go rabbit shooting with their landrovers. Then they decided to hunt down a wayward naughty young man who had been screwing the pub landlord's Mrs instead, but in their enthusiasm they killed him by mistake. He was called Michael

"lots of unprofessional screwing of witnesses" got my attention.

As opposed to amateur screwing? (my hand's up!)..;)

chicken giblets

Gah, British butcher often sneak them out of the roast chicken they sell you! I love when I find the plastic packet still inside the bird ;), and I fry up the giblets and eat them myself - the liver for breakfast. Although sometimes if there is a lot, I will reluctantly share them with the cats. (Not the liver.)

Liver and onions.

Or ... wait a minute! The dog that says "sausages"! All us Brits of a certain generation remember that dog, LOL.

Now I must go and make pancakes.
