Did you know that pot plants were invented in India? They invented pots for plants so that those serving in the Raj could take their gardens around with them, when they got moved on to a new posting.

Hello, Honey. We live and we learn. Thank you for that tit bit of trivia. :)

More trivia: An Orangery as an adjunct of a stately home was created to store the delicate fruit trees in during the Winter. The trees were grown in very large pots. In Spring and Autumn the doors of the Orangery were opened to allow outside air in. In Summer the trees were taken outside and placed at strategic points around the estate. In Winter the Orangery was heated.

The Trianons at Versailles were originally built as Orangeries.

OMG! LOL.

A woman playing the cello. Fantasy Football. People praying for pix of boobs. Naughty librarians looking over their sexy dark-rimmed glasses.

So many associations! so little time, LOL.

Were oranges the only fruit grown in orangeries, dear Ogg? :)

Oh no, I skipped you again!

I think I better go back to bed. if only.

Off to hang laundry, do washing up, feed cats and hide my dear friends' lovely avatars from my innocent little piglet.

I like the Motorbike Odyssey so much that I shall just leave it there as my association.

Robert Pirsig: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance...but then there's also that movie of Che Guevara on a road trip by bike..and I recall a podcast of a couple who rode their motorbike round the world.

Lots of Odyssies.
