Great Fire of London 1666
(An aside: My father, in his late 80s, was a volunteer guide to the City of London. He used to start his 'short' tour by asking the group to climb the Monument. By the end of the 'short' tour they would have walked 14 miles, climbed up to the inside of the dome of St Paul's Cathedral, a couple of other church towers, and seen more of the City of London than many people who work there. His 'long' tour was 27 miles and included Greenwich, Docklands and Southwark.)
