Sloe Gin (from Plymouth)

:rose::rose::rose: x 4 for Naoko

Oh dahlink, a dozen red roses! I am overcome.

Gosh, do you know, I have never tried sloe gin! I know, I know, a terrible omission.

Bombay Sapphire Gin.

(ETA: or should we call it Mumbai Sapphire Gin?)

My first fianceé (out of 3!) used to drink Sloe Gin and Bitter Lemon by the pint. She was an expensive hobby...

Bombay Potato

the 'umble spud (btw is the nickname 'Spud' often used with the surname 'Christie' in your part of the world?)

Don't think I've heard it used with Christie, but ...

Spud Murphy

... used to be quite common

Désirée potatoes.

What a name! Surely there must be a story behind it? Some man in ragged-topped wellies with an allotment, who comes up with a new potato variety inspired by a woman in a floaty nylon négligée. I imagine her with big firm boobs, which have a yellowish flesh and are very versatile. They are probably not exactly married, although theirs is not a Loving Wife story.

:)

Hi, Honey :)

Probably not King Edward then. His wellies would have been topped with ermine

King Edward and Désirée! There's another story. The ermine topped wellies and the nylon négligée.

Oh, association.

Flat racing.

Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant in Charade!

Oh well, I suppose I will forgive you. Since you are grovelling and have paid up the requisite kiss ;).

I alway got quite annoyed when the "theme" from 'Charade' was played on the radio. They never played the actual theme, only the song. But since we are there,

Warsaw Concerto

Ooh, that was a good leap of association. I do like film music, acksherly. John has good tips on film music, not that we expect to hear much from him at the moment <snerk>.

Enemy at the Gates

(I seem to be in filmic mode just now.)
