Freaking awful "cover" blurb

So I wrote a short-ish story, and sold it to someone to publish for Kindle under a different name. Fair enough. I got my money. I was curious to see how it was doing, though, so I went and looked it up. Good grief the product description is awful. It's not even grammatically correct. It's like wolverines clawing at my brain. I know that it shouldn't matter to me whether this person sells the e-book or not at this point, but this is driving me nuts.

What to do...what to do.... try to forget about it? E-mail the "author" with a better blurb in hopes that (s)he will use it?

Aaaaggghhhh!

That would grate on me waaaayyyy too much. Can't hurt to contact with a friendly suggestion.

You could go ahead and e-mail them with suggested improvements. They presumably do want people to buy it, and they have the ability to correct the blurb.

It wouldn't be annoying and pushy to send a better blurb? Well then, maybe I shall.

I would object to the bad blurb and probably suggest a better one too. Even if it's no longer in your hands, you are bound to feel a certain pride in what you did.

I certainly wouldn't approach it that way. They bought it; it's theirs to do what they like with it. (And they might not think her blurb is any better than theirs.) I say either be polite about it or give up ownership you no longer have and say nothing about it. Your name isn't on it, is it?

Think of it this way-- Is it annoying enough so that even if it weren't your story you'd still want to write them?

I probably would. Writing is a skill and an art and something some of us value highly and work very hard at. Hacks and incompetents deserve to be brought into line.
