So I have a question for our open minded community-

if you were told (or found out) that 'you' were the 'inspiration' for someone's creative acheivement would you be freaked or flattered?

and if you can explain why?

considering many people inspire me and until recently have been very pleased to find out, i'm curious what the you think.

let me know. :) :rose: and thanks for your time.

Flattered.

That someone would find motivation or inspiration as a result of you being you is what almost everyone hopes for on some level.

To be the impetus for some creation...that just rocks.

totally flattered...unless that creative achievement was a eeiry secret photo collage of photos they took of you when you werent looking and its in their basement surrounded by candles and a jack-o-lantern with a butcher knife lodged in it with your color of lipstick smeared all over its mouth, then i would be freaked

metal-minx,
ok that is just freaky. no, none of that.
yuck.:p
i was thinking more along the lines of writing- weather it be poetry or erotic tales. that type creative art. ;)

I would be immensely flattered. On the other side of the situation, I have been inspired by someone to write poetry. Quite an awesome experience as well.

Someone wrote two poems for me, and I was incredibly flattered.

Yeah, what she said :)

I've been the inspiration for a couple of things you ALL know of.

And no, I can't tell you what they are. Promises ARE kept.

I'd be very flattered to be someone's inspiration. I have had a few stories written loosely based on me. Maybe part of me sees how important and how much of an impact I've had on someone when I see what they've created. That's the best way I can explain it :D

It depends on the type and quality of work. If it's any good, I'd be flattered. If not, I'd probably be pissed, but mostly at myself. I'd also be really surprised, since I don't consider myself at all inspiring.

I've been called a muse a time or two. Flattered. Who would not be? Like SS, I've had a few stories written on what I have given the author, how much better can that get?

Depends on the work. If the story is about a woman tied in a basement while someone throws gerkins at her, I'd be freaked.

I would be Freaked. Mainly because the way I am I could give Freddy Krugger nightmares. That and I don't think there is anything inspirational about me.

but see, that has to do with how you see yourself not how others see you.

who knows, you might be someone's muse.

Flattered

indeed...
I would be glad that I was able to help some-fucking-body.

That's me..just trying to help.

definitely flattered. I am all about helping people tap into their creative side.

:D

Unless it involves dismembered baby dolls or a collage of my pictures stuck together with body fluids, I'd be flattered.

On second thought, I guess I'd be flattered by the collage thing too, I just wouldn't thank the artist in person.

Flattered, save for metal_minx's caveat. And for the quality of the work thing, it would depend more on how I perceived it compared to the rest of the artist's work, than on how I perceived its artistic merit in general.

You'll just never forgive me for writing that, will you?
