Frailty

Not yet. Will do when it comes on to telly.

Who's in it?

Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaughey and Powers Boothe. It's about a serial killer who believes he is the hand of God and the effect it has on his kids as he gets them involved in it.

I am SO glad I'm not watching this at night.

I finally got to see it last night, and it was worth the wait....great movie....though it DID go on a little longer than it needed to in the end....

Uh, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, and Matthew McConaughey are in it

I like Bill, ever since the Aliens. PV and him were good.

I saw it last week, It was one fucked up but interesting movie. The beginning is a little slow.

Paxton's first time out directing was a little amateurish but a good effort to be sure.
All of the promotion I saw for the flick seemed to center around the idea that he may truly be seeing demons. Becuase we are people and there is no such thing as demons that sounds preposterous but do we truly know that there is no such thing?

Had the movie played on that doubt and human fear of the unknown it would have been much better. The story turned out to be much simpler and predictable and unfortunately it let me down. It makes me sad when you have a concept with SO much potential and room for development that gets boxed into a story the size of a cigarette purse.

hmm i have not seen this one either. Another movie I may have to go and check out someday. I really dont watch a whole lot of tv though.

I'm going to spoil one of the major plot points of the movie here, so if you haven't seen it, don't read this.

But yes, I agree with Funboy. I think it would have worked better if it hadn't been revealed towards the end that the father and the younger son were actually seeing thing things that the people they were killing were doing. It made it into more of a supernatural horror show instead of a psychological one.

SPOILERS!!! SPOILERS!!!! SPOILERS!!!!!!

I'd actually forgotten about that, Dietrich. I saw the flick in the theatre and can really only remember my intitial thoughts and reactions. Now i remeber the people were criminals...a child molester and so on ..... the introduction of the supernatural get's closer to what i hoped to see but falls way short of what it could have been. They could have really played up some suspense...the movie could have been a ball of tension. Instead it was just OK....

On an unrelated note, I saw Red Dragon today and was surprised at how similar to Manhunter it really was....
