I'll bet you didn't have 'RobDownSouth saying "Fox News Does The Right Thing" on your Political Board bingo card today.
The local Fox News affiliate in Atlanta was doing a live insert on Fox 'n Friends about Hurricane Helene swamping creeks in metro Atlanta. They found a car rapidly submerging and set up for a dramatic live shot. When the camera lights came on all of a sudden they could hear a woman shrieking for help from the car. The Fox team did the right thing: they phoned 911 and requested emergency assistance.
But help was slow in coming. So the onsite Fox reporter made an on-the-spot decision, threw the coverage back to the studio, took off his watch, phone and wallet and waded into chest-deep water. The car was lurched on an embankment and the reporter found a woman up to her neck in water inside, and was filling the inside of the car rapidly. He managed to get her out and carried her back to safety.
They turned the cameras back on once the woman was safe.
Well done, Fox News.
Well fucking done.
Perhaps some day YOU will reach a fork in the road...and YOU will make the right choice.
