Fox "news" Cannot Be Trusted

Fox is drifting in the direction of CNN

I stopped watching Fox. They still have some good people but for the most part they are in a race to the bottom and right no the heels of CNN.

Seth Rich conspiracy theorists retract and apologize for false statements as they settle lawsuit

A businessman and a fringe internet activist who each played key roles in the conspiracy theory about Seth Rich, the slain Democratic National Committee staffer whose death was used by right-wing activists as a vehicle to help exonerate Russia from its 2016 election meddling, retracted and apologized for their statements this week.

"I take full responsibility for my comments and I apologize for any pain I have caused," the businessman, Ed Butowsky, said in a statement retracting his previous comments. "I sincerely hope the Rich family is able to find out who murdered their son and bring this tragic chapter in their lives to a close."

"Today we retract and disavow our statements and we offer our apology to Mr. Rich and his family," said the fringe internet activist, Matt Couch, in a separate video posted online. "I take full responsibility for my actions ... and would like to apologize to Mr. Rich and his family."
The retractions came as part of a settlement Aaron Rich, Seth Rich's brother, reached with Butowsky and Couch over a lawsuit he filed against them in March 2018. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed. The Washington Times, a conservative news outlet that was also sued, also retracted its claims and settled with Aaron Rich in October 2018.

In a statement, Aaron Rich said he was "gratified" at the fact the two have "taken responsibility for the statements they have made."

Fox News host Tucker Carlson met Twitter's wrath when he decided to mock Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-N.Y.) grim experience inside the U.S. Capitol. She and other members of Congress hid for their lives on Jan. 6 as angry Trump supporters, armed with handguns, Molotov cocktails, pipe bombs, zip ties, tasers and at least one assault rifle stormed the federal building to prevent lawmakers from certifying the Electoral College vote for President-elect Joe Biden.

On Thursday, Jan. 14, Carlson tried to manipulate and twist the facts about the siege as he downplayed the disturbing incident that led to the deaths of five people, including one Capitol Police officer.

"It was not an act of racism. It was not an insurrection. It wasn't an armed invasion by a brigade of dangerous white supremacists. It wasn't. Those are lies," Carlson falsely exclaimed.

After diminishing the severity of the angry mob's actions, Carlson went on to mock Ocasio-Cortez. Describing the lawmaker as a "vacuous little totalitarian moron," the conservative host criticized Ocasio-Cortez's praise of officers for their efforts to combat the violent mob at the Capitol. In a video clip posted to Instagram, the Democratic lawmaker offered details about the harrowing series of events that took place inside the U.S. Capitol. At one point in the video clip, she revealed she "narrowly escaped death."

"I had a pretty traumatizing event happen to me," Ocasio-Cortez described. "And I do not know if I can even disclose the full details of that event, due to security concerns. But I can tell you that I had a very close encounter where I thought I was going to die."
That portion of her video is what Carlson sarcastically aimed to mock. "Narrowly escaped death," Carlson sarcastically declared. "When the most harrowing thing you've done in life is pass freshman sociology at Boston University, every day is a brand new drama! Sandy's heart is still beating fast!"

"But she likes the cops now despite the fact they're white supremacists," he smirked. "What a difference a day makes."
Twitter users were not pleased with Carlson's attack on the Democratic lawmaker.

Tucker Carlson freaks out as President Biden declares efforts to crack down on white supremacy and domestic terrorism

Not long after a mob that included white supremacists stormed the Capitol, Fox News star Tucker Carlson told his viewers in a Wednesday monologue they “could be hurt” in President Joe Biden’s efforts to crack down on white supremacy.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Biden warned about “a rise in political extremism, white supremacy, domestic terrorism that we must confront and we will defeat.”

Mr. Carlson, who draws an audience of nearly 5 million viewers at times, took umbrage at painting white supremacy as a national enemy to be defeated.

The prospect hits close to home for the cable host, who has faced numerous allegations that his show and its employees endorse white supremacism,

In 2018, advertisers boycotted the program after one episode said immigrants were making American “dirtier.” Mr. Carlson has called widespread racism a “hoax,” won praise from neo-Nazis, argued the Black Lives Matter movement isn’t about helping Black people, and been labelled a “white supremacist sympathiser” by congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

One of his colleagues at Fox News told The Daily Beast that Mr. Carlson has created a “white supremacist cell inside the top cable network in America.”

Well, the vast majority of Tucker's viewers probably ARE white supremacists and domestic terrorists! So, a crackdown on those people WOULD hurt Tucker's audience!

Trump spent years calling black athletes "sons of bitches", Central American refugees, "animals" Mexicans were labeled as "rapists" and Syrian refugees were labeled as "terrorists".

But right-wing, domestic terrorists and white supremacists were "very fine people" and "patriots".

And let's not forget that Donald Trump was endorsed by the KKK.

And Trump appointed white supremacists (like Steve Miller) to high ranking positions in the federal government.

And Fox "news" vigorously supported Trump is all of this.

Fox "news" Channel has cancelled the cable show, "Lou Dobbs Tonight"

This is in no way a sign that Fox has suddenly developed journalistic ethics.

This is a sign that the CEO of Fox and their lawyers are freaking out about the $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit brought by Smartmatic. Dobbs is the most visible perpetrator of the disinformation campaign waged by Fox against Smartmatic, so they're trying to create the illusion that Dobbs acted on his own and that Fox's leadership shouldn't be punished for his actions.

In the past, Fox has spread conspiracy theories about George Soros being a nefarious criminal mastermind secretly controlling the U.S. government from behind the scenes, Hillary Clinton being behind the death of Seth Rich, about Hillary Clinton running a child sex ring out of the basement of a pizza parlor, about Doctor George Tiller "operating a death mill" and being guilty of "Nazi stuff".

Fox has spent decades hiding behind the First Amendment, claiming that it's perfectly legal for them to lie in their "news" broadcasts, so if they lie about Hillary Clinton or George Soros of George Tiller, the courts will just have to let them get away with it.

Our Founding Fathers never intended for Freedom of the Press to be used to spread lies, conspiracy theories or to incite violence against innocent people, but Fox's lawyers have been quite effective in arguing that Newscorp should be allowed to do just that.

Yeah, but this lawsuit by Smartmatic is something different. While spreading hateful lies and crazy conspiracy theories against private citizens and dragging their names through the mud is still considered legally defensible by America's legal system, telling lies about a corporation that damages their ability to make a profit is not. America has a long history of valuing corporate profits far more than human life. And Fox's reckless and irresponsible attacks against Smartmatic could seriously damage their ability to make profits. As a result, Newscorp could lose everything in a court battle against Smartmatic.

So, Rupert Murdoch is worried that his empire could be destroyed by this lawsuit, so he's trying to make it look like Lou Dobbs engaged in his propaganda against Smartmatic without the blessings of the leadership of FNC or Newscorp.

Trump Isn’t the Only One on Trial. The Conservative Media Is, Too.

In recent weeks, two voting-technology companies have each filed 10-figure lawsuits against Mr. Trump’s lawyers and his allies in the media, claiming they spread falsehoods that did tangible harm. This comes amid an already-raging debate over whether to reform Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which prevents online companies from being held liable for the views expressed on their platforms.

“The greatest consequence of the Trump presidency has been the weaponizing of disinformation and parallel dismantling of trust in the media,” Mark McKinnon, a longtime political strategist and co-host of the Showtime political series “The Circus,” told me in an email.

“Unfortunately, it took the perpetration of the big lie that the election was a fraud, an insurrection at the Capitol, and almost destroying our democracy for someone to finally take action. But it appears to be working,” Mr. McKinnon said. “Nothing like threatening the bottom line to get the desired attention.”

On Thursday, the voting-machine company Smartmatic filed a $2.7 billion lawsuit against Fox News, some of its prominent hosts and two lawyers who represented Mr. Trump, Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani. The suit accuses them of mounting a campaign of defamation by claiming that Smartmatic had been involved in an effort to throw the election to Joe Biden. Fox News said in a statement that it was “committed to providing the full context of every story with in-depth reporting and clear opinion,” adding that “we are proud of our 2020 election coverage and will vigorously defend against this meritless lawsuit in court.”

The Fox suit came on the heels of a similar $1.3 billion suit that Dominion Voting Systems brought against Mr. Giuliani the week before.

The impact of both lawsuits was immediate. Newsmax cut off an interview with the MyPillow founder Mike Lindell last week as he attacked Dominion. Then, over the weekend, Fox Business sidelined Lou Dobbs, one of Mr. Trump’s fiercest TV news defenders and a defendant named in the Smartmatic lawsuit.

Lists of lies and fake reports

Good morning. Did you sleep well? Had coffee yet? When you feel wide awake just pause and take note of the fact that ALL of the news media is subject to bias. Special political and economic interests cause humans to put their thumb on the scale. Fox, CNN, and all the rest are fake news. We could all site long lists of lies from all of them. We could do the same thing with the political leaders who have long lists of lies in their histories.

Rather than be a puppet that is jerked around by whatever channel you watch why not step back and realize that something much darker is going on. The masses are being brainwashed by ALL of the news media.

Don't let yourself be turned into a herd animal. Think things through and don't get so pissed off at people that think different than you.

There are extreme storm clouds gathering. Bickering about who is the biggest liar doesn't solve the problem. The goal should be to expose all the fake news and help people see how manipulated they have become. All the anger is ginned up by powerful people that want you to be an angry little puppet in their hand.

Who has your strings in their hands?

Define "white supremacist". Is that the new term for racist?

The dems started the kkk, as you know.
You're either a purposeful liar or an absolute fool... I'll let you choose.

Nathan Bedford Forrest was a confederate general, a racist and a southern democrat when he formed the KKK. Fast forward... when democrat President LBJ signed the civil rights act, over the next 20 years, all conservative southern democrats changed party to become republicans. There has never been a mass migration of past democrat families to northern blue states and there has never been a mass migration of republicans from northern blue states to southern states. Nathan Bedford Forrest's current family... his great grandchildren and great great grandchildren are ALL republicans and they still despise Lincoln and LBJ.

The fascist republican pig Sean Hannity has never apologized to the Rich family.

With the voting technology companies now filing a multi-billion dollar law suit against Fox... it's now also time for Aaron Rich, Hillary Clinton, Robert Mueller, Comey, Vindman, Comet Ping Pong, CNN, and others to file a class-action, multi-billion defamation law suit against trump, Fox, Hannity, Carlson, Breitbart, etc. Force the fascists into a court room to defend themselves with evidence... remember fascist trump was supposed to prosecute hillary... and the class should not settle until they impoverish the FBI-defined "domestic terrorists" defendants. The truth... the whole truth and nothing but the truth is, IMHO, the ONLY way to re-unite the U.S... for the truth will set us free.

Sean Hannity really struggled to distinguish between a riot and a protest on Thursday night as he continued to use his platform in defense of Donald Trump's incitement of a far-right mob that attempted to overthrow the government. This time, he drew an incredible false equivalence by comparing that coup attempt to peaceful Black Lives Matter protests near the White House last summer.

This was a misleading tactic that many people used on Fox News last year during the protests — sparked by the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis cop — acting like the generally peaceful demonstrations represented some kind of existential threat to the country.

In reality, most of the clashes between Black Lives Matter protesters were the result of the police escalating the situation. Police were five times more likely to use force against peaceful BLM protests than they are against other types of demonstrations. Not only that, but the two examples most often used to draw equivalence between the BLM protests and the Jan. 6 insurrection — the murder of several police officers in California, and the burning of a Minneapolis police precinct — were actually committed by right wing Trump supporters police say were conducting false flag ops in order to spark a civil war.

Donald Trump had accomplices in his campaign to incite violent insurrection. Fox “News,” relentlessly pushed the Big Lie that led to this attack. On Jan. 4, for example, Fox News’s Tucker Carlson accused “virtually every power center on Earth” of working “tirelessly … to bypass voters and get Joe Biden to the White House.” “If that’s not rigging an election,” he thundered, “there’s no meaning to that phrase.”

Where is the accountability for right-wing propaganda-whores like Carlson, who engaged in reckless and dangerously irresponsible behavior, whipping up right-wing extremists into greater and greater levels of animosity with his right-wing conspiracy theories of a "stolen" election?

Sean Hannity is all upset that news outlets like CNN, CBS and MSNBC covered Donald Trump's impeachment hearings and allowed their viewers to see the damning evidence against Donald Trump and the incompetence of the lawyers Trump hired to defend him.

Hannity is trying to defend Trump and make him look like the good guy in this story, but he can't do that by dealing in the facts, so he engages in childish name-calling and emotional outbursts. He refers to news anchors, journalists and news room editors who've covered the impeachment hearings as "swamp creatures" and bemoans that, "Journalism in this country is dead and buried" and emotionally declares that, "The media has to start telling the right story in this country."

Hannity's bosses have said before that Hannity isn't a real journalist ,he's more like a performance artist, but they keep calling themselves Fox News Channel instead of Fox Propaganda Channel or Fox Bullshit Channel.

Sean melodramatically bemoaned the suffering that poor, innocent Trump has gone through, saying, "That's what this country's lived through, Donald Trump and his family have lived through, the last five years. And by the way, that is what the president's lawyers faced over the past few weeks. And this is what President Trump, again, faced for five years!"

So, Hannity refused to show video footage of the damning evidence against Donald Trump or the pathetic ineptitude of Trump's lawyers, yet he claimed with a straight face that Trump's lawyers put up an "excellent defense" as they tried to defend Trump.

The mob Trump incited killed and injured cops and attempted to overthrow the government of the United States of America. Trump told them that they were "special people" and that he loved them. And now Hannity is making Trump out to be some sort of long-suffering hero.

Has Sean Hannity no shame?

I can't recall whether it was Hannity or Bill O'Reilly who claimed Strom Thurmond quit the Democratic Party in protest over their opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (the truth is the exact opposite: he quit the Dems because they supported it), but I'm pretty sure it was Hannity who blamed the 2008 financial crisis on Clinton lying about his sex life a decade before. (His point, if you could call it that, was that Wall Street lost its moral compass after the president got away with lying about an act of consensual sex. Make of that what you will.)

It’s scary how many ‘history’ books Bill O’Riley has published, no doubt with facts as well researched and accurate as his ‘news’ was.

While millions of Texans suffered from power outages amid extreme winter weather, a slew of Fox News hosts and guests misled their viewers by blaming the state's power grid collapse on renewable energy and progressive climate policies.

Prominent Republicans, including the governor of Texas, President Donald Trump's former energy secretary, and Fox primetime hosts, pegged the problem on wind and solar energy, the Green New Deal, and President Joe Biden's administration for the state's infrastructure failure.

We fact-checked those claims.

'The windmills froze'

"The windmills froze, so the power grids failed," Fox opinion host Tucker Carlson claimed Monday night. "It seems pretty clear that a reckless reliance on windmills is the cause of this disaster."

Fact check: The majority of energy sources that went offline in Texas were not wind turbines, but power plants that run on fossil fuels, including natural gas. While Texas produces more wind energy than any other state, the state's grid manager, ERCOT, was only expecting wind farms to produce 7% of its energy in the winter.

The term "windmill" is also not quite correct. Windmills are used to mill corn and other grains into flour and pump water. Wind turbines generate electricity.
