I think the European leaders are doing what they can to help Ukraine both with this meeting and help with money and weapons.
But Europe are so tied down and dependent of USA since WW2 that they can't just kick Trump in the butt and tell him to go fuck himself. Europe has just started to build up their defense but Nato has agreed to use lot of American things that is hard to replace. So it will take some time.
Sweden just got to be in the family of NATO and we were told to replace all of your guns to NATO (USA) standard ammo 5.56 instead of 7.62.

The stepping up part is ongoing but we are held back by agreements with USA.

I don't see that at all with Trump.To seriously pressure Putin, he has probably already lost all his negotiating positions. He would have needed to credibly present stronger support for Ukraine as an alternative. No one believes that anymore.

Putin relies on the fact that Trump, like a small child, will quickly lose interest and applies the classic Russian negotiation strategy: be as uncomfortable as possible, create trouble where you can, and demand 180% to end up getting 120%.

Unfortunately, Trump is probably the worst alternative the West has for negotiations with Putin.
