Four reasons Buccaneers will win Super Bowl LV: It starts with Tom Brady

It seems odd to be talking Super Bowl about a team that went 7-9 last season, has had one winning season since 2011, and hasn't advanced to the playoffs since 2007. For some perspective, Jon Gruden was on the sidelines and Jeff Garcia was under center in 2007 -- that was five head coaches and 10 starting quarterbacks ago.

But a lot has changed since the Buccaneers' 2019 season concluded with a Jameis Winston pick-six. Winston, the 2015 first-overall pick, was not re-signed and is now in New Orleans, and Tampa Bay's Super Bowl hopes and dreams will in large part be determined by a 43-year-old quarterback.

On the surface that seems like a horrible plan, but Tom Brady isn't your garden-variety middle-aged man. He's still one of the the NFL's best players and it's not much of a leap to think upgrading the quarterback position, even just a little bit, will be enough to get the Bucs from middle of the road to a legit Super Bowl contender.

Even at 50 or whatever age he is, hes better than Vinnie Testeverde in his prime. :)

As you saw yesterday you have to go through N.O. to get to the Super Bowl. Gronk was a no show yesterday.

I guess we were supposed to forget that Brady wasn't all that good last season (the Patriots were winning with defense) and that he's a year older now.

So is Gronk...

There were excuses a-plenty to be had.
No pre-season. Yeah, that's the ticket;
50% of the teams that played won...

;) ;)

Bill Belichick is the reason for the Pat's success not Brady or Gronk in and of themselves.

I'll be surprised if the Buccaneers make the playoffs.

Not many folk have prospered betting against Brady.

.

The NFL is one step above the WWE.

The refs are almost as bad.

If the league thinks it's a good storyline for Brady to win in Tampa then he will.

His skills have definitely eroded and he was always protected like a movie star throughout the years. I'm surprised they don't have a stunt double come in when he gets sacked.

He also benefitted from Belicheats and his own rule "bending".

Does anyone outside of Patridiots fans even like or respect Brady????

Point-of-order: the thread starter knows nothing about pro football or professional sports - he just thinks Brady supports Trump and is a fanboy as a result. ;)

Why is a football called a football?

I understand why a soccer ball might be called a football since they don't let players touch it with their hands. I don't know why they can't touch it with their hands. Maybe the first guys to play it had no arms or something. So, yes, it might make sense to call a soccer ball a football. But footballs don't look like feet. They are not made out of feet. It is true that once in a while they are kicked by a foot. But that is a minority of the time. Since it is at best only kicked by one foot when it is kicked I am glad that it is not called a feetball. That would be even more odd. But most of the time it is held. Often cradled. Why not call it a cradle ball? Also, the shape is like a blimp. Why not call it blimp ball? Who started calling football football? And why did they do it? Once these things get started how can the name get changed so that it makes sense?

One more thing: Why do people pay money to watch other people play with balls? I understand porn but I mean sports balls. I know cats like to watch objects in motion but what is it about watching 300 pound men pursue a ball that is so addictive?

P.S. Millions of people are dying of cancer and there is a lot of hate in the world.

1) Brady does not support Trump
2) Go easy on Dmitri and his lack of understanding of American sports- they don't have football in Russia.
3) Be that as it may, this could be the one time one of his posts is actually correct.

Oh you know that is right.

Rodgers tends to lean further to the left on his ideals as well, so you know that MAGAT threadstarter is gloating.

Anyway, hope the Bills or Chiefs win the SB. Refs are in the pockets of that cheater Brady.

F-k Tom Brady and his annoying wife.

Why are you in the thread, then?

I personally like watching sweaty, muscular men running across the field.

Hope Cheater Shady pisses in his pants when he faces Pat The Great and the rest of Andy Reid's Terrific Team. Should have retired five years ago.

It should be a great SB, at least I hope so. I don't have a dog in this fight but Tampa's defense looks tougher than KC's.

Did you see the lockdown coverage on the receivers?

It might be hard for the old man to find enough time to get someone open.

He's not exactly Fran Tarkington in his prime...

He's not even a Mahomes.

Yes, I saw it, I wouldn't mind if Mahomes won two in a row. Brady is a hero either way in even getting that far. Taking a 7-9 team to the SB is Brady's win.
