Employees will own their majority stake in the business via a trust, similar to the way the John Lewis Partnership is organised.

The 140 employees, and freelancers, of which there are currently 180 working for Aardman, will also continue to receive a share of profits. Anyone who has worked for the company for at least three months of any financial year is entitled to a bonus.

Staff will have an input into the running Aardman via a workers council, while the senior team will sit on a new board of directors which will lead the business and decide on the staff bonus, reporting to the trust’s board.

UK tax dodge, well done....any bets on when they go out of business?

Any idea why they did that? Are these animators woke, or something?

Because it works. The John Lewis model proves it. JL was the Last of the major UK retailers to feel the pinch of austerity. This is mainly due to immense staff loyalty which has engendered customer loyalty. Our government told us we were all in it together, they lied. In John Lewis it is true and everyone works for the common good.

There is no reason why this shouldn't be a successful policy for Ardman. It is the work and ideas of the animators that made the company what it is. now they will be justly rewarded.
