Well for me the escalator fear started when I was quite young. We were going up the escalator in one of those huge malls. You know the kind were they guy up for like 2 stories high. And somehow my leg got caught between the belt and the rail, and I ended up falling down an escalator. You know how long you can fall down a moving escalator? Heh. :(

I have issues with stairs. Now don't get me wrong I use them all the time but as someone who finds that inanimate objects frequently target me, I know they are sneaky malevolent bastards! (Psst, going UP is actually more dangerous than going down, at least for me!

I totally understand. And I tend to trip more going up, myself, but when you trip going up you just fall and bang you knee. When you fall going down you hurt more than your knee. Unless you're lucky and grab the railing - then you just sprain your shoulder.
