Formerly Active Posters Turning Into Lurkers

I lurk more than I post. And, I rarely begin threads. I love learning about people and learning from people. So, I enjoy reading threads more than anything.
I will admit my insecurities may sometimes get in the way of potential posts. I am a lot better than I was over a year ago.

I lurk for about 120 seconds between each post.

Did you know I can count your ribs? ;)

Some people are more comfortable just lurking. Some come back to see what is going on with the people they used to know. Some come to see people with their ass sticking up in the air. :D

:rose:

Some just become wore out on the same sorts of threads over and again.

IT isn't a criticism, it just is what it is.

New folks, same questions.

OH well....going back to my corner now ;)

I went from a regular poster to a lurker.

And I'm getting ready to take yet another break.

The fun is gone. Hopefully it comes back.

I'm not wasting my time. :)
How can you tell who is lurking
and for how long if they are invisible? :D

I got some particularly mean emails & pms, so took a break from Lit for awhile. I was injured a good part of the summer & spent more time lurking because I didn't really feel like I had much to contribute, plus a lot of the people I used to post with are gone. I will be popping in & out as work allows.

I've become a lurker most of the time. When there's nothing for me to say, i lurk.

I know!!! I used to be comfortable posting how really felt but people started judging me too much for it!!! I started lurking when things got personal. I'll keep looking for the fun, I'm not gonna give up on the GENERAL yet, it's the best thing on the web or even anything in real life!!!

hmmm

some of us are chatting...or doing other stuff on the net.....just taking glimpses of what is on lit from time to time.

I'm working away from home again. If I'm here, but not posting, It's because I'm replying to PM's.

The board is what we make of it. If it's not fun, try dredging up one of your favorite threads. In fact, I'll re-create an old favorite right now.( scurries off)

I have a tendency to lurk for a bit before I jump in with posts. I have found that lately I want to post less and lurk more. Have been jumping in and not making sense even to myself, a good sign that I have been posting too much.:)

Not Lurking just do not

have the time to read the threads and post as much. I do however I try to write and keep up with some threads in the personal section. Is that still Lurking?

Also some of the reasons mentioned above.

Peace,
Tulip

Why? When you used to post on a very regular basis...do you suddenly stop cold and just start lurking?? I noticed that a few of those have popped back up in the last couple of days...I mean, if you waste so much time lurking...why not contribute to a conversation or two on a semi-regular basis?

I did for a month to see if any one would notice if i was gone.

No one did so I started posting again...

Nite? May i ask? Why hold on to the past and not look to the future? And make new friends? You know there are ALOT of people here, some new and some old..

My suggestion i guess is make new buds. and keep making them..!

If I don't have anything on topic to contribute, I find something offtopic to contribute.

I'm just a fluffy bubblebutt, don't mind me :D

If you were talking about me, I have not been lurking - I took a break from Lit. for a while and only visited back about 2-3 times, once because a friend here sent me a link via email to her thread.

I find I have to get away from Lit. for a couple of reasons:

1) I can't lurk - I feel I have to reply to some of the threads/posts, and I spend quite a bit of time writing up replies/posts rather than working.

2) I sometimes get pissed off at people who are my friends when they say something I don't like - usually something I take personally.

This last week or so I wasted a lot of time on Lit. when I should have been working on my websites. I will probably go back to staying away from Lit. more and more.
