Carter exacerbating the 'racial' scene & Clinton endorsing Former Gov Brown's opponent and this makes News?

Some one please tell me what I am missing here? What are the motives?

Carter has been repudiated and irrelevant since 1981; twenty-eight years. If theyre using him to influence anyone, theyre desperate.

I don't doubt you at all, JBJ, but two former Democratic Presidents on the prowl in the first eight months of a new administration garnering headlines?

It's gotta mean something...but what?(I could speculate, but...:))

Its a game kids and politicians play to take attention away from themselves. Obama obviously doesnt like the attention he's getting with ACORN and the ObamaCare problems in the SENATE.

On second thought, I will speculate, just for the amusement value:

Just suppose, for the sake of conversation...that the Powers in the Democrat Party, have seen the writing on the wall and are betting that Obama is a one term President.

He has betrayed the left, the anti war contingent, the gays, and his centerpiece legislation, socialized medicine, is on the verge of failure.

Hillary is in the wings, just waiting for 2012...waddayasay to that?

 heh

What does it mean that Cheney was in the news a month ago? Bush was in the news two months ago? It means nothing. Each side has their own news source now. You don't want to hear about Cheney - go to MSNBC. You don't want to hear about Carter - go to Fox. The truly sad part is, the lion's share of news viewership goes to (drum roll please)................Comedy Central.

Oh! Sure! You know Team Clinton will knife Obama when the time is right. Obama is one term.

The Obama administration is desperate to take the publics eye off the health care ball, so they're starting fights in the end zones; much as a squid releases ink to confuse an attacker.

Clinton, Carter, Joe Wilson, ACORN, etc. are among the distractions. Trouble is, most people aren't fooled.

The networks are vacillating between covering these stories or ignoring them to blather on about health care. When ABC anchorman Charlie Gibson stated he didn't know about the ACORN scandal, it was almost laughable. He knew all about Joe Wilson, tho.

If life in America, as we know it, were not at stake, along with the terrorist threat to dominate the middle east and more, one could find the political turmoil humorous and boorish.

You say people are not fooled...do you think they really realize the danger of socialized medicine and the Cap & Trade threat to the entire economy?

The far left has so much to lose with the fraudulent voting registration, the Unions, Teachers also that contributed heavily to ACORN, I just don't see them going down peacefully...they are quiet now...like on the forum...but...?

Probably not in so many words, but they do know when they're being screwed over by the Obama administration and Congress. Now the Dems are saying there's gonna be a big middle class tax hike to pay for all the goodies they're offering to 'fix' health care. Smooth.

I don't think there's enough Dems in the House or Senate with the guts to vote on the health care legislation without a single Repub signing on. Then it becomes a huge political liability to them if things don't turn out as they promised...much like the stimulus package, auto industry takeovers and bank bailouts. ;)

I heard that one live when he uttered it. I knew that it was going to be everywhere in short order. Don and Roma have a hell of an entertaining show, WLS doesn't fade in and out like every other station on my 40 mile commute, and they're constantly getting candid moments out of Gibson and Stephanopoulos. Dragging evening newsmen out of bed for morning drive, I guess.

For the life of me I don't understand why anyone of Gibson's stature would admit to such a thing. Unless he hadn't had his morning coffee. If he was making an attempt to minimize the story, for whatever the reason, he failed miserably and now looks like a fool.

Although Carter is pretty much irrelevant, he is still famous, and he has described Joe Wilson and those who oppose Obama as "racists." Much of the news media wants to promote that same idea, and some may even believe it, so they give Carter a lot more ink than he deserves.

Clinton is also an ex-president, and still quite prominent. I assume you are referring to Jerry Brown of CA, sometimes referred to as "Governor Moonbeam." He ran against Clinton in 1992, and memories are long. There may be other reasons which have yet to come to light.

It's really a bit early to start talking about candidates for election, such as Brown or Rob Miller, who is seen, right now at least, as Wilson's probable opponent next year.

It seems to be the new thing in Washington DC these days. Ted (Brain Cancer) Kennedy blowing it out his ass with only half a brain. Now it's Jimmy (Been Alseep of 20 years) Carter doing the same thing.

Thank you Jimmy. You just made Obama's Health Care Plan an impossibility. :D

Jimmy Carter, what happens when an incompetent becomes senile.

Media is just trying to create a distraction from ACORN and the crash and burn of health care.

I agree. This is also why they are making a big deal of Joe Wilson's outburst, and ignoring the Dems' constant dissing of W and trying to make criticism of Obama the result of racism. Admittedly, some of it might be, but most of it is honest dissent.

Jesse Jackson and other black leaders used to say a lot of negatives about W. Was this racism or was it honest disagreement? Personally, I believe it was the latter, although some of it might not have been.

Keep in mind that "Other black leaders" is a very broad description and could include such as Barbara Lee of Oakland and others.
