[Open for one male to play the role of her old crush. PM if interested]

Lisette sighed as she gazed up at the sky. Dusk had begun to paint it vivid shades of people, pink, and blue. As the sun slowly sank out of sight she gazed at her hand. It was still vaguely transparent but her body was slowly becoming solid again. She remembered the first time this had happened to her. She had been frightened out of her mind. Who wouldn't be, when they found out they were dead. She had only been a ghost for a short time but it wasn't all that hard to figure out she wasn't normal. I mean, she had never heard of ghost that could become human, and it seemed she could only do it at night.

The other strange thing was she had absolutely no idea how or when she died. All she could remember was her name. Everything else was an absolute blank. She sighed as the sun finally disappeared. She stretched running a hand through her wavy brown hair. She stood in the large mirror if the funeral parlor she had taken to hanging around in. Her hair was slightly messy and she ran her fingers through it rearranging the curls that framed her face and hung on her eyes. She guessed she was pretty enough...for a ghost. She was 5'6” and slender with 32C breast. Her eyes were bright blue with a ring of darker blue around them. Her clothes were pretty simple, a pair of black skinny Jeans and a black half shirt with a cat on it.

Walking our of the back door Lisette roamed the streets. It was pretty crowded, New York City always was. She was lost in thought and didn't notice the guy walking in front of hey until she collided with him. Stumbling Lisette quickly regained her balance. ” Ouch, damn I'm totally sorry!” she said turning to get a good look at the guy she had nearly ran over.

Gregg was wandering along absent-mindedly, through the streets of New York. He had been working all day in his local bar and just as he was about to get away, he got asked to do overtime to cover for someone who had called in dick. He hated the idea of working even longer but he needed the money so he agreed. Before he knew it, it was 9pm and he had been working 12 hours. He left work and set about wandering the streets.

He walked along, listening to his headphones and paying little attention to where he was really going and even less attention to what anyone else in the crowded streets were doing. He attracted little attention as he walked along. He was dressed in dark jeans and a black button up shirt. His medium length hair was brushed over to one side, but even so he could not avoid the perpetually messy look which he always had. Still, he thought he was fairly attractive, standing at 6"4' and being in fairly good shape. But amongst the thousands of people on the street, he was just another guy.

He was completely lost in his own world when suddenly a girl stumbled into him, knocking him sideways. He turned to see that she was okay and started to apologise "I'm really sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going" It was only as he looked at her that he thought he recognised her "Hey, it's Lisette right?" He asked

Lisette pushed hey hair out of get face and paused to look at the guy she had run into. He was kind of cute, in a laid back sort of way. ”It's Lisette right?” She froze, her eyes widening briefly in surprise. Who was this guy? How did he know her name? She blinked a few times, realizing that she's had been staring. ” Yea. Sorry, I've been a bit scatterbrained lately. I don't remember your name.” she said with a sheepish grin.

Memory loss was a real bitch, especially right now. But it was even weirder that this guy didn't know she had died. She really must not have been very noticeable if people didn't even know she was deceased. Lisette sighed, glancing up at the sky. The moon was out tonight not that it shone very brightly compared to all the city lights. Eek at least the moon knew how she felt. A sudden bump into her shoulder jolted her back to the present. Here she was standing in the middle of a crowed side walk looking like an idiot. Looking around she noticed a quiet looking coffee shop just across the street. ” Um, well. It was nice seeing you.” she murmured then turned to wait for the light.

He looked at her and noticed the look of shock cross her face when he knew her name. That surprised him. They had never been close, probably not even enough to consider each other friends, but they had been in a few classes together at high school and it's not like that was forever ago. Which made it even more surprising when she completely failed to come up with his name, not even a guess. He would never consider himself popular but he was known and if he remembered Lisette's name, he though she might have known his.

He was still watching her as another person bumped into her knocking her off balance again. She turned away, mumbling an apology, and made to cross the street, and he was tempted to leave it at that, but for some reason he couldn't just drop it there, something about the situation just didn't seem right. He walked over towards her just as she was about to cross and touched her on the arm, "Hey, do you maybe wanna grab a coffee?" He asked, gesturing across the street.

Lisette jumped slightly when he touched her. She had never really been accustomed to being touched, or at least so she thought. She wasn't really sure of much these days. After a moment she realized he had asked her a question; something about coffee. Did she even like coffee? ” Okay.” she murmured. She glanced up as the light changed and made her way slowly across. Something about this action, crossing the street seemed so strange. A car horn honked and she jumped slightly covering her ears. It was so loud, the cars headlights were so bright. She shook her head and kept walking.

Reaching the coffee shop she pushed open the door. It was warm and the air smelled of sugar and coffee. It was a soothing smell, calm and familiar. She smiled lightly and headed for a table by the window. Sitting down she gazed surround her. The atmosphere was soothing and familiar, the colors muted and calm. ”I think I want a frappe...”

He didn't know what it was but gregg could sense that she really wasnt comfortable. He wasnt sure what it was but every little thing she did seemed on edge, like she was scared or confused or both. Whatever it was he couldn't work it out, but she hadnt objected to the offer of coffee so he followed her in crossing the street towards the little coffee shop he had noticed.

As soon as he stepped through the door, the warmth hit him, along with the smell of the fresh coffee. Another thing hit him, lisette finally seemed to have relaxed a little bit. He heard her murmur about wanting a frappe so he went straight to the counter, ordered himself a cappuccino and a frappe for her. They prepared the drinks quickly and gregg turned to walk back towards the table, where lisette once again looked lost in her own little world. He placed the drink down in front of her and took a seat opposite, smiling at her 'for you" he said.

Lisette traced her fingertips across the smooth plastic swirls in the table. There was something so familiar about this café. She closed her eyes for a moment and breathed in slowly. The sound of a cup hitting the table made her open her eyes. ”Thanks... Umm...Gregg?” she said hesitantly. She didnt know where the name had come from but it seemed right. She wrapped her fingers around the cup turning it a while before she took a hesitant sip.

It was good, cold and sweet. She swirled the straw around mixing the coffee a bit. She drew the straw out and licked the whipped cream off it. Sticking the straw back in the frappe she took another sip. Leaning up she looked at him across the table. A few strands of hair fell messily in front of his eyes. Almost absently she reached out and brushed his hair from his face. She let her fingertips linger on the his cheek. A warm feeling spread up her arm and through her body. She blushed and took her hand away. Lowering her head she started fiddling with her straw again.

He sat across the table from her, just watching, trying to work out just what it was about her. What was making her seem so nervous, what had made him invite her for coffee and mostly what was going on here. He smiled as she thanked him, she had managed to remember his name and he was glad to find that he wasn't so forgettable. "Yeah it's Gregg, glad that you remembered" He laughed quietly, before taking a sip of his coffee. It was good to relax with a nice coffee after the day he'd had, though the lisette twist of events was certainly unexpected.

Despite the fact that he had remembered her name, Gregg was struggling to remember much else about Lisette from their time at high school, she was quiet and they were never close so he didn't know much beyond her name. He was still trying to recall some facts about her when she reached out across the table and brushed hair from across his face. As her hand lingered on his cheek, he noticed that her fingers were frozen. It was chilly outside but even considering that, she seemed strangely cold. Suddenly she pulled her arm back and looked down, but not before he noticed her blushing. "Thanks for the help, My hair gets kinda messy sometimes" He said with another little laugh, trying to make her feel a little more comfortable "Not everybody can have great hair like you". The last part slipped out without him meaning it to, but it was true too, she did look good.

Sorry had to make this one short going out to pick up food

”Oh, um thanks...” Lisette said with a small smile, ” Sometimes I think its such a hassle, it never seems to behave the way I want.” She could recall, for a moment, always fighting with her hair before school. School? Where had she gone to school? She probably wasn't all that popular. She was to quiet. But at least some of get memories seemed to be coming back. She took another sip of her frappe and sighed.

”So anyway, what are you doing around here?” she asked smiling to make the question seem less rude.

No worries

"Well it was definitely worth the effort today, you look great" He smiled back at her as she offered the first small smile he had seen from her. She had a great smile too, how had he not noticed this girl more when he was back at school, He must have been blind. Or stupid.

"Oh nothing much in particular" He started in response to her question "I live not too far from here and I work at a bar just along the street. I've worked a 12 hour shift so I was just wandering around to loosen up a bit when you tried to tackle me" He laughed again, hoping she didn't take it too seriously, she had seemed a little shaken up when they were out on the street "So what about you? I haven't seen you at all since school, you just kind of disappeared off my radar. What are you doing now?" He asked

Lisette listened quietly her head tilted slightly to the side. It seemed so strange to her, the thought of having a job, a life. But she had one to at some point she just couldn't recall what it was like. ”I don't really do much. I spend most of my day studying the human life.” she said with a shrug, ”I really don't have much of a chance to do anything til the sun goes down.”

She blushed briefly realizing how weird that probably sounded. But it was the truth. She spent all the daylight hours in a dreamy sort if state, or wandering around invisible. Night was different though. She was solid...but she still felt invisible. Absently she drained the rest of her frappe. She winced as a loose lash fell into her eye. She rubbed at it absently aware of the warm tear that had started to trickle down get cheek. ”Oww, shit.” she muttered.

He listened carefully, just as she had to him, and though what she said sounded a little strange, he took it to mean that she was still studying for something and that it took up a lot of her time, what else could it mean he thought to himself. "I guess I got lucky running into you then, I'm glad that you're a bit of a night owl" he said, catching himself smiling again and chiding his self in his head for grinning like the Cheshire Cat so much, she was surely thinking that he was a complete idiot.

Just for the moment though, all she seemed to be thinking was about the eyelash which had gotten into her eye. He could see a tear rolling softly down her cheek so he reached across and moved her hand away "here, let me get that". He gently used his finger to move the lash which was just at the edge of her eye, wiping away the tear at the same time "better?" He asked, his hand resting on the table now, just brushing against hers.

Lisette froze as his hand brushed her face. Somehow it seemed to intimate, having a guy she barely knew or barely remembered, clear a loose eyelash from her eye. Not that she wasn't grateful of course. In retrospect that was probably one of the things she didn't miss about bring alive, pain. She rubbed her eye simultaneously clearing three morbid train of thoughts from her head. She smiled shyly at him tucking her hair behind her ears. Glancing up at the clock she sighed. It was getting late and she should probably let Gregg be on his way. She still had til sunrise before she went all transparent again but humans were different, they needed sleep.

”I'm sorry if I'm taking up your time, you probably wanted to be home by now.” she said, glancing down at the table.

She has seemed to be loosening up a little, seeming a little more relaxed, but suddenly it came back. Just for a moment she looked as if something about him touching her face was the most terrifying thing ever. It was only there for a moment but it was definitely there before she brushed her hair behind her ears and smiled. Gregg tried to ignore it though and move on, so he smiled back across the table at her.

"Don't apologise for that" He smiled "It's always nice to spend some time with a nice girl, and it was nice to see a face from the past". He took a long final sip of his coffee while thinking over his next words. He took a deep breath before continuing "I probably should head back, but do you maybe want to meet up for another coffee sometime?". He stopped there, he was already worried about being too forward. He hadn't seen this girl in years and he was asking her out, he must be crazy.

Lisette smiled softly, and looked out the window. Her night had gone in an unexpected direction, but it was surprisingly pleasant. ”Um, if you want to hang out again we can... I'm usually busy til dark, but I do come here alot..” she said shyly, tracing her fingertips across the tabletop. She really liked this place and Gregg seemed to be a nice guy. Much like the coffee shop, there was something vaguely familiar. Maybe there was something that could help her remember who she was. Or maybe at the least how she died. She took another sip of her frappe and sighed. ”Well, maybe I'll see you again later.”

Gregg stood up smiling. He wasn't sure what to expect when he had asked if she wanted to see him again but he was pleasantly surprised that she had said yes, or at least she hadn't been completely dismissive of the idea. He stood up and put his jacket back on getting ready to leave. "So maybe I'll see you in here tomorrow night?" He asked, not totally expecting an answer "I'll be waiting for you". He was about to just walk out but instead he leaned down as he walked past her and just lightly kissed her cheek, and as he did he was startled at how cold she was even though they were inside. "Bye Lisette, see you soon" He said with a smile, walking out of the door.

Lisette blushed, touching her fingertips to her cheek. Her skin was warm where his lips had touched. She blinked, it was strange to her. She doubted she had ever been kissed before, on the cheek out otherwise, and especially not by such a cute guy. She remained in the café for a while longer, finishing her frappe before she left. There was nothing much to do until sunrise. So, per usual, she decided to wander until sunrise. Leaving the café she selected a random direction and started walking. Though the streets were never empty it wasn't hard for her to feel like she was by herself. She explored the city, waiting on the sunrise. She sighed lazily her hands shoved in her pockets. Slowly the sun crept up into the polluted skyline. Her body slowly started to become transparent. ” Just another day of being invisible...not much of a difference there...”

Gregg wandered for a little while after leaving Lisette in the coffee shop, just trying to put together in his head what had gone on. What had gone from a walk down the street to chill out, had turned into a nice time with a cute girl. He couldn't have predicted that the night was going to go that way but he was pretty glad that it had. He made his way slowly home and went straight to bed, going to sleep with Lisette still on his mind.

The next day he woke up as normal, got dressed, had the customary fight with his hair to try and tidy it up but inevitably he lost out and had to leave with his usual messy look. He frowned as he looked in the mirror on the way out of the house but then remembered that Lisette had seemed to like it and that brought a smile to his face as he walked out of the house. He made his way to work, and set about the same shift he had the day before.

All day long he was thinking 'Will she show or was she just being polite?'. He could have sworn he was going to drive himself crazy with it but he couldn't get it out of his mind whatever he did, so he resolved to find out when he headed towards the coffee shop after work.

Lisette sighed standing in the mirror. She had been fighting her unruly curls for almost an hour now. Exasperated, she gave up settling for a loose side ponytail. She frowned at her reflection. She had settled on a pair of tight camouflage cargo pants and a black half shirt with a white paint splatter design. It was comfortable, but maybe not exactly cute...she always had a rather unique style.

One good thing had been happening lately. Bits and pieces of her memory were starting to come back. Briefly dismissing that thought she headed out. Once she hit the crowded streets she withdrew into herself. From what she remembered it was nothing unusual. She had been pretty introverted when she was alive. But this felt like something different.

She sighed as she spotted the coffee shop in it's cozy little niche. She strode towards it like a survivor seeking shelter from a storm. The moment she crossed the threshold and the warmth and sweet, sharp smell of coffee instantly enveloped her and soothed her. She glanced around, looking for Gregg and blushed when her gaze landed on his messy hair. His back was to her and she walked up behind him. She covered his eyes with her hands. The single bangle she wore clinked softly off her studded wristband. "Guess who?"

When Gregg looked around the coffee shop and didn't see Lisette, he was a little disappointed, as just a little doubt crept into his mind, bringing back the worries about whether she would show. He had to hope though so he walked up to the counter to order.

He wasn't absolutely certain that she was going to show, but he was trying to be optimistic about tonight so he decided he would make an order for her. He thought hard about the order, wondering whether or not he should try to surprise her before deciding to stick with what he knew. He made the same order as the night before, a cappuccino for himself and a frappe for her. The girl behind the counter was just handing him the drinks when arms reached around him and covered up his eyes and he heard a familiar voice say 'guess who?'.

He reached his hands up towards the hands as he said "Well I'm hoping that it's a really cute brunette girl". He moved the hands away and keeping hold of them he turned himself around to face Lisette. "It's my lucky day, just what I hoped for" He said with a grin, still holding her hands in his, noticing that they weren't quite as cold as last night "Hey Lisette".

She smiled softly as he held her hands. Still being as shy as she was she gently slipped her hands from his after a moment. She was a bit surprised that he had shown up, and even more so that he was actually glad to see her. She didn't know why but something about being around him made her feel a bit more normal, like the fog in her brain wasn't so thick.

She tilted her head to the side, pushing these thoughts aside for the time being. Instead she motioned to the frappe on the counter behind him. "You ordered drinks...?" she said lightly as she ducked past him to retrieve the two cups then led the way to a small table in a quiet corner of the cafe. She sat at the table and glanced around her. Here, with the warm tones, quiet conversation, and the sweet and pungent aroma of coffee on the air she didn't feel so self conscious...or so dead. "I'm glad you came..."
