About 4 years ago I got a red rose tattooed on the left side of my chest... supposedly over my heart. It has three scrolled ribbons running through it which have the names of my now ex partner and my four kids in them.

Even though she is now my ex I would not change the tattoo given the chance. This isn't because of any lingering feeling for her, rather it is because the tattoo reflects how I felt at a particular point in time.

Any future partners will have to understand that.
