Foreskin worry

Hey guys, this is pretty embarrassing for me but I need an answer. My foreskin is far too tight on my cock. In that I cannot pull the skin down around it. I'm worried that this is going to affect my sexual performance. Any advice someone could give me? Should I see someone about it, or will I be able to get by?

You should get it checked by a doctor as in some cases an unsually tight foreskin can cause problems. It's unlikely that you'll need anything done and many cases can be treated with a cream rather than anything surgical. I'd go along and get checked just for peace of mind if i were you. Trust me, they will have seen the likes of you before and nobody will ever know you went.

is it just tight when you are hard or when you are soft as well? I always thought any issues with tight foreskins were sorted by adolescence either naturally or with surgery.

I had that when I was a pre-pubescent. I went to hospital to get a small bit of foreskin removed; unfortunately it grew back and so a full circumcision was required. On the plus side, people tell me they like my circumcised cock, so I'd get down to the doctor and see if they'd be willing to sort you out with one!

But the truth is that you'd be getting compliments either way. It's not like one way is better than the other.

well I'm an uncut guy. and I've no problem pulling it back
but when I was around18 age. [mods Its not underage talk]
yes so when I was younger than 18 and untill 19 y.o., I did have problem pulling it completely backwards, but
right now I'm 21, and it goes back nice and smooth.
so If you are very young [around 18] then I guess its not 'that big issue'

but two people can't be same so
I'd advice you need to show it to doctor, Urologist/Sexologist.
may be you need to undergo Circumcision but its far better than the status quo.

my good wishes be with you

A *lot* of people have this problem.

My boyfriend is one of them - he had to have surgery to correct his problem.

If you do a search in this forum, I can recall at least half a dozen threads about this very experience. When my boyfriend brought his up, in fact, I already knew quite a bit about it from Literotica, and sort of weirded him out with my knowledge ;)

I highly agree with the "See a doctor" suggestions. They'll fix you up.

Believe me, having this problem in your past is not going to effect your sexual performance at all.

Come along Lalah, let's encourage the poor chap to go see the doctor.

I would suggest that you go and see your GP. He will have seen it before and it will give you peace of mind to get his opinion. As you said cost is not an issue because of the NHS.

Good luck.

Even if there are cost issues involved, I think that in the US visiting family planning/GUM clinics is free and that would be as good a place as any to go.

I missed that one I think. I hadn't considered any cost implications. In England healthcare is free of charge.

Cost implications or not, when it has to do with your genitals, suck up the money and make the payments on the doctors visit as long as you have to...

Hey guys thanks for the responses. To answer your queries, cost is a bit of an issue, and I'd prefer not to have to go to the doctor unless absolutely necessary. I've been looking up the problem online, and a lot of sites recommend stretches. Anyone have any experience with that?

Stretching (gently - don't hurt yourself!) can help much of the time.

If that doesn't work, you need to see a good doctor. If I recall correctly, 90+% of the time, applying a steroidal cream to thin the skin enough where the patient doesn't have pain with retraction plus stretching does the trick.

If that doesn't work, some patients need a minor surgical procedure.

When none of that works, or the problem is very severe, circumcision is usually the course of action prescribed, but it's only necessary for a very, very small percentage of men.

So, yeah, try daily stretching for a few months, and see a doc if that doesn't work for you.

I would try stretching too, also a bit of moisturiser (gentle) on the skin would help, you don't want it to get too dry and sore. Mine was tight too, but plenty of exercise sorted it out . . .

If in doubt see a doctor, but don't rush to be circumcised, you've kept your foreskin so far, would be a shame to lose it now.

Again, in the UK it's a no brainer, nothing to lose by talking to your doctor.

Im from Ireland, so unfortunately we still have to pay for our health care!:)

Really? I've never visited Ireland but in so many ways it seems more civilised than the UK. I'm surprised at that!

Almond oil helps your skin become stretchy, you can buy it in a pharmacy here (it will be sterile whereas culinary almond oil wouldn't be.) Try massaging it into your foreskin and gently pulling it back. I would imagine over a period of weeks you would find it improving. Likely to be a pleasurable experience too.

According to this wiki article, basic care for those who don't meet the income requirements for free care is still very inexpensive. And if a person really can not afford the charges, they are covered by the government.

If that's mostly true, consider yourself very lucky and go see a doctor about this! Surely it can't cost that much to get it checked, and if you're too poor to afford that, you must be able to get a card for free or cheap care.

Most of us Americans would kill to have at least subsidized or reasonably-priced health care and not have to worry about being bankrupted by medical bills. My husband and I pay around $400 monthly just for health insurance premiums (and we're under 30 - rates jump significantly at 30), and then 20% for all services. And we don't make that much.

It wasn't until I had children that I realised how lucky we are here. As a parent you often need the reassurance that a doctor can give. On the whole mine are incredibly healthy, but there was a hearing problem with one which was monitored on a regular basis by attending the main centre for audiology in London. It cleared, but he needed speech therapy as a follow up and this again was provided promptly and efficiently.

Personally I feel that clinical decisions are made more impartially when the surgeon doesn't make more money by carrying out procedures too.

PS Don't you ever sleep?

Edit: I guess it isn't so very late for you.

That's a problem

I had that problem as a teen, and when I started having sex, it was very painful when the foreskin pulled back over the head! I know exactly the problems you are having.
Get circumcised as soon as you can. It won't get any better by itself!

It may or may not get better by itself. Indeed, our physician suggested that it does in many cases. My son had this condition and we tried gradually stretching as his doctor suggested to no avail. However, it does work in some cases.

I don't think it is fair to suggest circumcision is the only option (nor the best in my opinion). 2.5 months of steroidal creme every 4-5 days did the trick for my son. He found the possibility of circumcision more than enough to get him to follow through with regular application:eek:.

Here is information about this condition:

I would be very cautious of the doctor i see, as many are pretty clueless when it comes to foreskins. If he says you need to be circumcised right off the bat, find another doctor. Wait until you find one that will discuss alternatives and tradeoffs and will discuss the function anf value fo a foreskin before you settle on a doctor.

Regards
