If sex with someone who speaks a foreign language, is a typical turn on.

I'm currently translating for a piece, using Russian. In this story I'm putting Mila Kunis in there. Research her thoroughly I've learned mannerisms blah blah. She reverts to Russian sometimes.

I figure since she came from The Ukraine at 7 it would be reasonable to assume she would revert to it.

1.What do you think about that.

2.Okay this one I'll try to handle tactfully to avoide mid east conflict.

Do you think Arabic would be a sexy language during sex?
I'm thinking planning going to put a FICTIONAL Arabic princess in it.

Thoughts on languages during sex or my points

That depends upon ho long she's been away from the Ukraine,
and
Does she live alone or with relatives who speak their native tongue to her.

If she's been away from her 'roots' for, say, 20 years, she's not going to use many of her native words.
Furthermore, her language is going to be that of a 7-year old.

Personally, I think Russian would be better that Arabic. It's easier to write.
And French would be a better language all together.

Arabic is only sexy in certain circumstances. It is one of the preferred languages of the non-consent section, where the middles east provides daily plot bunnies to rape fans around the world.

I speak French, and my wife says listening to me speak it always gets her all hot and bothered. ;)

Is her native language Russian or Ukrainian? Ukrainian is a different language to Russian.

Remember:
I speak English to my man-servant
French to my mistress and
German to my horse.

Coming over to the US at a formative age (7) would allow that person to fully assimilate to the US culture and adopt the English language by the time they were an adult. It would be highly unlikely for them to slip back to their native language. If they came over later in life, it would be more likely to happen. I'm by no means an expert on this, but I have many personal examples of it in my Italian family, being the first generation of US-born.

I don't personally find the Arabic language as sexy as the romance languages. But the concept of using non-verbal communication in lieu of spoken language is sexy. The dark, silent machismo man who is a superb lover and uses his body to communicate his desire, is a tremendous turn-on for a lot of women.

I've experimented with this in two separate novels I've written. One where the woman was Ukrainian and just learning English, and another where the man was Portuguese. I used single words and phrases to exhibit the language difference.

Are you trying to ascertain the interest level in this, or the plausibility and/or realism in a fictional plot?

Lord heavens, that ain't right at all. I was thinking of the Maine character making out with Arabian princess. Who is a former schoolmate. No sexual assault here, yikes. If it turnes into CONSENSUAL sex I wanted to know how sexy/romantic Arabic could be interpreted to be.

She speaks Russian and is from the Ukraine. Lived there when it was the USSR hence the Russian, however its not that simple. The region she lived in and her religous background factored in, on her not speaking Ukrainian.

You are such a prejudiced and hate-filled individual. I feel sorry for you.

Do you think Arabic would be a sexy language during sex?

Yes, it is.
Persian is sexier. It has the elements of a romance language within it much more than Arabic, and is softer to speak.

Yes, I would think it would be--although I can't say. I've had Arabic lovers, but not Persian ones.

Languages that don't go well with sex include Mandarin and Japanese. Tonal languages can't absorb the sense of arousal very well.

The realistic application is what drove me to enquire? If I'm gonna write something I have to be inspired on a intelectual and sexual level, but facts drive me too. These two cultures are inspiring me linguistically and visually. Arabian is doing it more visually than linguistically for me, (There is one real Arabian princess inspiring this. No names used) Back to the point, at the end of the day google goes away and it'll just have to be plausible enough in the world I create. Where luckily enough im Lord Emperor of all I survey.

I have one character that speaks Russian once in a while. I keep it extremely simple, and he usually translates for his American companions. Mostly I describe the sound of the words he's saying, as heard by non-comprehending American ears.

The two sexy words I know in Arabic are "habibi" (darling, sweetheart, beloved) and "gamal" (beautiful.) How much more would a person need to know?

Maybe this version is better;

Well, anything can be a turn on. Some people might get turned on by Russian but not French, or by Spanish and not Gaelic. Or just the foreign language itself can be (and for a funny take, see A Fish Called Wanda :) ).

One thing with Russian -- I studied it for five years -- is that it does not use our alphabet. It uses the Cyrillic alphabet. I don't know if Lit can render that, although I imagine it could. Phonetically it can be hard to render Russian, as well.

I have found Russian not to be a terribly romantic-sounding language, because it has very hard, gutteral sounds in it. Which doesn't mean someone else might not think it's great.

When a Russian talks to you in bed he won't be talking in the Cyrillic alphabet! :p

Indeed. For me, Rammstein (German metal) is great romantic music!

He won't be writing it out, but he could still use the Cyrillic alphabet ifyouknowwhatImean...

I just submitted a story where one couple of the club is Latino and the wife speaks heavily accented English with a lot of Spanish mixed in. Is it sexier that way? Who knows? All I know is that I'm pretty sure the LW trolls will go ballistic. The comments should be choice.

When you get right down to it (pun intended), actions speak louder than words. :D

The Gaelic languages, Scots and Irish Gaelic, Breton, and especially the northern dialect of Welsh all have a certain musicality.

Arabic is good but Persian is the best of all, though personal experience makes me a prejudiced judge.:)

French always seemed to work for Gomez Addams...:D

I have always thought that French looks prettier written down on a page, but Spanish sounds better, more liquid or fluid or something. Spanish doesn't have as much of what I think of as "harsh" sounds (such as the French R), and it's less nasal.

Russian, as I said, is a very harsh-sounding language, as is Hebrew (I studied Russian for five years, Hebrew for one). They have a lot of hard sounds made in the back of the throat. They are pretty in their own ways, and I love languages, so I'm not saying anything against them, just making observations.
