Massive work, usually involving the rental of a breast pump with a committed routine of stimulating the breast every few hours, suppliments of various herbs, and sometimes a Rx for an ulcer medication with a known side effect of inducing lactation. Adoptive mothers are sometimes able to induce lactation, without ever being pregnant; however, it can take several months of consistant effort, to be even somewhat successful.

I have a lactation fantasy so I've read a bit about it and apparently it's half physical and half psychological. Basically you must have your nipples sucked for twenty minutes eight times a day for so long (I forget how long). The psychological part is you wanting to lactate.

I'm serious jenny. I got a link from another lactation thread in here, the link was to a Yahoo group for couples that are into lactation. What I stated above is what I read.
I'll see if I can find it.

Sorry jenny but I can't find it. I suggest you search the Yahoo groups I know there’s quite a lot of them out there. As far as you needing help...you have no idea how much I would love to help you with this, it’s always been a fantasy of mine. If you ever fly 3000 miles across the Atlantic then let me know.

Forced lactation sans pregnacy is a part of a seriously hot (to me,) fantasy that I have right now. A sort of, "This is my cow," thing.

:D

What is it that you find hot?

The right term is induced lactation, if you google for it you will find more information.

However, this is WAY too much work for a mere fantasy, believe me :)

Sorry to be a downer, but...

Seriously- sucking on a woman's nipples for 20 minutes at a time, 8 times a day- in 90 + percent of women- will NOT induce lactation. Especially if the woman has never been pregnant.

If that were the case thousands upon thousands of women who have problems with a milk supply for feeding a baby, wouldn't have to go through the difficulties they do. Adoptive mothers would be able to nurse their adopted babies without issue, instead of renting pumps and downing drugs in the hopes they can feed their babies.

This is not a "mind over matter" thing. It is a combination of physiological and hormonal changes. If there isn't an issue of having to actually support another human being on the milk (a baby), then "success" could be viewed as a few drops of milk; kink on and all that.

However- once a woman starts the stimultion necessary to induce lactation, if she is successful, stopping that stimulation will quickly dry up the supply. She would also need to pay attention to things like wearing clothing that won't put too much pressure on the breasts, issues with leaking breasts, signs of mastitis (just in case), and properly "wean" when the period of induced lactation is over. If a woman does successfully produce milk, it can take up to a year for the milk to "dry up".

It may be a great fantasy, but lactation isn't like a switch someone can flip on to make milk, and flip off, to go about everyday life.

See you learn something new every day!

If you've breast fed in your life, a hospital grade pump and some help with supplements/hormones is a reality. For those who have breast fed in the past and would like to do it again, thinking about it makes your nipples hard.

It is possible to induce lactation, even if you have never been pregnant. The trick is to stimulate the nerve endings in the milk sinuses, (located in and behind the nipples), in the same way as a baby suckles. (There is a difference between sucking for sexual stimulation, and suckling for milk) Suckling in this specific way, stimulates the pituitary gland to release the hormones that produce milk.

You might Google milk sinuses and milk ducts to get an idea of what is involved physically. You can also find information on inducing lactation on Google. Wet nurses have techniques they use to increase their milk flow.

It takes multiple stimulation sessions per day on the same schedule as a baby breast feeds, and being so, it is labor intensive and requires personal discipline.

Also, there is a drug prescribed for acid reflux called Domperidone that can help. There is also another drug called Reglan that will help induce lactation; HOWEVER, NEVER TAKE THIS DRUG FOR THAT PURPOSE!!!! Reglan crosses the blood/brain barrier, and can cause Tardive Dyskinesia, an involuntary muscle twitch/movement that is in most cases, incurable!!!

Regular and proper nipple stimulation, (suckling, hand stimulation, breast pump, etc.), combined with Domperidone will usually produce some milk; however in most cases, not enough to breast feed a child. With that said however, it is usually enough milk to produce a very pleasant sexual experience for a woman, and depending on your partner, (oddly enough, some men are turned off with breast milk), for both you and your partner.

Interestingly, while being suckled after inducing lactation, the same hormones that cause milk flow, can also create something called "uterine flutter". From what I have been told, (something a man can never experience), it can a VERY arousing experience for a woman.

I would debate the "mine over matter" point of view.

Historically, wet nurses, (after having been pregnant and breast fed at least once), have been able to relactate and produce enough milk to breast feed.

From my experience, some mothers who breast fed a child never completely dry up, and produce drops for years afterwards. Mothers who continue to produce drops can sometimes fully relactate. With that said however, success for most women will likely be drops and maybe a few sprays.

As far as the "mind over matter" point of view, from my observation, women who can successfully induce lactation seem to have a particular mindset. They seem to have a more maternal personality than women who fail. Just my opinion, but I believe mindset is a critical part of successfully inducing lactation.

While it is the result of hormonal changes, the body follows the mind.............

My wife's right breast still drops a few drops despite her youngest being born 25 years ago. Really not a lot but the drop is there every time. Completely tasteless. Left one completely dry.
