I recently listened to a special lecture given by John Gaddis at Yale on the subject of the Bush administration. I was fascinated when the speaker anecdotally revealed the extent to which George W. Bush is an avid reader of history. Apparently, the man reads a great deal more than even the average tenured professor.

That said, it takes more than book-learnin' to run a country.
