Out of sheer bordom I have found many similarities between FF IV and Star Wars. I thought this may interest FF fans.

I am going to proove that Star Wars and FF IV have a lot in common. Let me begin with Zeromus and Emporor Palpatine. Zeromus starts of as Zemus and mutates into Zeromus in his quest for power. Senator Palaptine mutates in his quest for power when he becomes Emporor. They both undergo physical changes. There is more to this too. Zeromus is an alien who hates humans and wants to kill them. Palaptine is the oppisite he is a human who wants to kill aliens.
Fu-So-Ya is also a lot like Obi-Wan Kenobi for many reasons. In Star Wars Owen Lars is supposed to be Luke's uncle. It turns out that Owen is not Luke's real uncle and is Obi-Wan's brother. Since Luke is Owen's Nephew even though not by blood that also makes Obi-Wan his uncle. Well, it turns out that Fu-So-Ya is Cecil's uncle. Now back to Star Wars after Obi-Wan is killed he still helps Luke. In the final battle Fu-So-Ya comes to Cecil to help him.
Golbez has a lot in common with Darth Vader. Darth Vader served Palpatine much like Golbez served Zeromus. Golbez is also related to his enemy just like Drath Vader was related to Luke. The difference is Golbez and Cecil are brothers. There is also the fight when Tella dies and Golbez attacks Cecil and spares his life. Darth Vader fought Luke on Cloud City and spared his life. Both Golbez and Darth Vader were also not competely evil men in the end they abandoned their darkness in an effort to stop evil. Golbez fought against Zeromus in an effort to stop him and Drath Vader killed the emporor to save his son. Golbez also has one other thing in common with Darth Vader. Rather than killing Cecil Glbez uses him to get the earth crystal so at least for a short time they are on the same side. Darth Vader suggests that they turn Luke over to the Dark Side rather than kill him.
Edge is like a male version of Princess Leia. This makes sense because both were strong individual leaders. They were both also attacked by the bad guys because they posessed something of value. With Leia her planet was destroyed and very few survived. As for Edge his kingdom was attacked and the remnants of his people hid in that cave.
Cecil is like Luke. Above I explained all the family relations so I am not going through all of that again. His role is much like Luke's too.
Now let's take a look at more of the plot. Luke was a nobody on a backwater planet who stops evil. After Cecil was stripped of command of the Red Wings he was then a nobody. Luke belonged to a small and outnumbered rebellion. In the beginning when Kain and Cecil speak of overthrowing Baron they are part of a small and outnumbered rebellion. With the exception of Qui-Gon Jinn and possably Darth Vader (becasue the armor makes it hard to see) all Jedi dissapear and become one with The Force. In FF IV when Tella's daughter dies and dissapears. Why do only certian people fade away when they die in FF IV? Well, I say it is because they are magic users in some form and a magigican and Jedi are pretty much the same. The definition of mana is almost the same as the definition as The Force.

In FF3 (US version) there were many scenes on the floating island that mimicked Star Wars as well. There were certain times in the game where Kefka was hilarious.
