I posted my rather Brit 60;s list on the 70's thread.

I was in love with

Emma Peel,
Catwoman,
(early signs, n'est pas?)
Penelope Pitstop,
The blond girl with the honkers from Mission Impossible,
Betty rubble (yeah, like Wayne from Wayne's World).

I was addicted to Wacky Races. To this day I still think I remember seeing Dick Dastardly win once.

I knew I was a sub, becuase I kept wanting her to beat batman. Or scratch him, or whatever she did.

Hmmm - maybe I should be a dom? I used to have a Batman outfit (honest!) and would run around the garden singing -

Nana Nana Nana Na Batman!!!

1. You were told in class at school that Pres. Kennedy had been shot, and was dead. During h.s. maths class.

2. You watched Lee Harvey Oswald be shot to death on national television as you ate your Sunday lunch. Was on way out door to church walking past tv.

5. You saw the Beatles in person on their first US tour. No, but the nuns at my h.s. banned us from listening to them. Didn't work. Detroit booed the Stones on their first tour, only a few hundred kids showed.

6. You wore mini-skirts (the first time around), or stared at the girls who did. The first minis were hardly that, basically just above the knee.

10. You were entertained at your nightly meals with scenes from Viet Nam. Never watched tv during dinner, but did see lots of the war on the news.

11. You found out some of your class mates were killed in Viet Nam or were POW's or MIA's. A cousin died. One brother went AWOL (to Mexico) after returning from combat.

12. You saw Bobby Kennedy shot and killed on national television. Yes.

13. You watched as the nation mourned the assassination of Martin Luther King. Yes, more intense situation in Detroit than elsewhere. Also lived through Detroit race riot of 1966.

14. You watched man walk on the moon for the first time. Yes, but not impressed like everyone around me.

16. You remember Ken Kesey, the Hell's Angels and the Acid Tests First time seeing the Angels on the highway was very impressive.

17. The phrase tragedy at Altamont means something to you. Yeah, but not much.

18. You remember when Dick Van Dyke entered our living rooms by tripping over the ottoman. Yes, I thought the show surreal, nothing like my homelife.

19.the Ford Cobra 427SC came out. I only remember when the Mustang came out, my mother bought one the second year.

21. Watching Peggy Fleming skate her way to a gold medal in 1968 I liked her elegance.

25. Sound of Music Didn't see it til just a few years ago.

My youth straddled the 60's/70's.

Who knew Andy and Don would one day pray that Ron Howard would take their calls.

I have a Ska version of that, Goldie. Nahh, batman was an old subbie, just like me. And Not just a subbie: I mean what's with the "Bruce Wayne and his 'ward'", thing?

You know all the words to the theme of Gilligan's Island, and Secret Agent.

Lusted for 99 or wanted to be her.

Lusted for Mrs. Peel or wanted to be her. previously mentioned, but bares repeating

Actually saw an episode of "My Mother the Car", the world's worst sitcom.

If I say, Heidi and Football, you get the reference.

Wanted to be Jon-Jon and live at the White House.

Remember thinking, "That guy from Death Valley Days wants to be governor?"

I'd forgotten all about this.....seems tame now, though, doesn't it? :)
