What do you want in the man or woman of your dreams? I mean beyond the usual attributes that pop up on such lists: "good sense of humor," "faithful," "honest" "independent" "confident" and the ever-present "not into mind games."

Use your imagination. What do really want them to be like?

Me?

I want a guy who'll go overboard on the Christmas lights every year. He'll volunteer to dress up as Santa and ring a bell for the Salvation Army.

He'll tear up at sappy commercials and movies, but won't actually start crying.

He's intelligent but doesn't take himself too seriously.

He laughs loud- everyone in the room can hear it, and he doesn't care.

He can bait a hook for fishing, catch a fish with it, and then bring it home and cook it.

He thinks it's funny how, when Mel Gibson's characters get punched, shot, beaten or otherwise maimed in any movie he's in, he goes into the same gutteral choking that makes him sound like he's about to yak.

Maybe I'm too picky...

Selective in Seldovia,
Ellie

A Princess.

Someone who will appreciate the romantic guestures.

Someone who understands that I want to cuddle, and that's all right now, no this ISN'T a prelude to sex, stop stroking me!

I just want someone who makes me smile.

That sounds a lot like my rl persona. :)

Well, there aren't many princesses out there, but I'm sure you can find someone luminous enough despite a lack of royal blood.

LOL... with all the cuddlebugs out there, certainly you won't be waiting too long for a girl who knows how to just be held. Although I must admit, it's unusual (in a good way) to run across a guy who doesn't want a cuddle session to go further, lol!

:D

A guy who lives in the vicinity of Vancouver - or would be willing to relocate within a 6 month time frame - would be a wonderful thing. All else can be negotiated.

I want a man with a kind heart

......who understands where my son stands in my life

......who can laugh during sex without losing it

......who will cherish my spirit

......who is not intimidated by my strength

......who understands those days I just need to be held

......who won't mind if I spoil him a bit in silly ways just because he is special

.....who won't mind the occassional Saturday spent in bed

.....who will come into the kitchen and cook with me, share with me, play and enjoy

Those are just some of the things ........... essentially I suppose a best friend, lover, and mate.

If you're going to dream, dream big.

hmmm can I think about it?

[sarcasm]No. You're not allowed to think.[/sarcasm]

By all means, take your time.
A slow response is better than a hasty, ill-considered one.

Edited to say: that goes for you too, Starblayde.

Waiting in Walla-Walla,
Ellie

Almost too easy for me.

He has to only be able to do one thing...make me feel safe. To trust him enough to surrender my fears and let him own my soul. A patient teacher of sorts.

Of course he'd have to be able to put up with a ton of bad habits I've developed from living alone all these years but the enthusiasm might make up for them.

And be a water lover of course.

No other major requirements that I can think of right now. But I reserve to the right to add more when I'm finished the homework routine here. :D

I want him to see the humor in life, to be able to laugh.. shake his head and make jokes while he goes about fixing whatever the problem is.

To get my jokes and play back off of them.. who understands just what a smartass I am and not be offended by it. Who is secure in himself enough to be teased over his quirky ways and who can tease me back for my own.

Who's eyes light up whenever I'm around, someone who is capable of putting up with my stubborness and admire me for having those traits.

A man who loves children and suggests that we invite my son (or our children's) friends over for a over night party, who gets right in the kitchen and helps bake the pizza's, fix the drinks and helps serve them.. while bantering and making them giggle at how corny we are.

A man who isn't afraid to get up and dance to music only heard in his mind and heart.. who's at ease enough with himself to reach over and affectionately give not only myself a hug and/or a kiss but our children. Even in public sometimes.

A fella who can outshout me at games, urging the kids on to doing their very best.. but who doesn't shout when they cannot, instead offering understanding words and encouragement.

I'll just keep dreaming. ;-)

heh foud it

I'd say a strong, independent woman that can fight beside me in life. Partner not Susie-homemaker. Passionate in bed on the edge of being violent. Just as smart or smarter then me. Open minded, nymphomaniac, determined, with strong cense of self and nice legs. I prefer dark hair and dislike big chest. Physical appearance is secondary anyway...

My ideal man would be tall and tattooed. He'd come over to my place and have a great time with my kids, keep us all laughing all day long, and then when they went to their dad's he'd fuck me like a demon until they came back again. He wouldn't mind that I like to sit around and watch tv and go to the worst bars in town. Wouldn't get all jealous and psycho over my job. Most of all, he wouldn't be insecure, and he wouldn't be a drunk. He'd treat me the same way I treated him, and when I'm head-over-heels for someone I treat them very, very well.

So when is our wedding Zmey? ;) I'm not sure about the nice legs though, but I think I got the other stuff down.

I want all the "normal" things
like I find them attractive and they me

Kitty and several others posted a lot of things I would be and like to have .........

However the most important things are:
1) honesty

2) allow me my alone time without letting me isolate when my PTSD cycles

3) good conversationlist

4) a sence of adventure

5) sexually free

So far, no smart, guffawing, Santa-wanna-be fisherman are beating down my door.

I need to take a lesson from you in being flexible...

Grasshopper is ready to recieve your wisdom, Mia.

Darlin, I hate to tell you this, but we're looking for the same guy.
Are you my long lost sister???

You've got my vote for best answer so far! You made me swoon over your ideal guy. But I promise that if I find him, I'll pass him onto you.

Keep dreaming, kitty. He's out there...

(hopeless, aren't we?)

Dreamin' in Dublin,
Ellie
