Cool piece of info for inquiring minds.

Sanskrit is to Hindi as Latin is to English.

Saying that if you speak Hindi you must know Sanskrit is like expecting all Americans to know Latin.
Of course!

But, they can read the letters.

Perhaps Greek they might not be able to pronounce, but they could at least pronounce Latin...

It is closer, I think; but in any case, I can see things that are Latin, written so, and know what the letters mean.

You don't need to know Sanskrit, but you ought to understand the letters.

Or am I wrong? Where you live is everything written in our Latin alphabet?

Do you hear what you are saying? I know to a foreigner all Indian languages feel the same, they're not. Hindi, Marathi and a couple of other languages use the same script but they're different languages.

I have never learned sanskrit. I know some slokhas because well you can't avoid hearing some of the stuff (like the gayatri mantra).

She's vetted as far as I'm concerned.

She knows someone that I know... so that's settled.

I just wonder about the writing.

Pfft. Never trust hearsay. And don't expect others to accept it as truth.

Oh wait... didn't Rosco say that he knew Karen?

Tell me more.

Don't go there. People here are humourless about vetting unless you're one of the cool kids.

I have not yet completed the required forms to be accepted into cool kid status.

P.S. They miss that you must belong to a previous British colony, you spell 'humour' the right way. :)

Appreciate him?

Well. I don't think I appreciate the nasty digs at folks, the continual and embarrassing stalking of IsleofMan, the countless threads (seriously, he'd start a thread about a gnat's fanny that one) and the most unforgiveable sin of all....he's boring.

So no, I don't appreciate Mr Thrope at all.
