I know your Dolly has personal significance, thats cool. There are just so many statements to make about yourself and so many images to tweak to your likeing that a Dolly seems like selling yourself very short.

My opinion, which along with a dollar will get you a 20 minute phone call.

Mouse, yes there are ways to express yourself with Av's, but finding good ones can be a really tough search (I'll point to the Fact Angel searches for herself, and comes up blank, picking up ones for other people along the way). With the Dollies, their a bit of fun, you get plenty of options, and you can customize it down to the hair. Have you ever tried making a Dollie?

If you play with what words you enter you can quickly peruse hundreds of images, then just crop, resize, and tweak to fit.

just for you, mouse, i'm going to bring back my old av. it's an action figure (dollie) that i spent untold hours customizing pixle by fucking pixle.

i honestly don't see what the big fucking deal is, now that hardly anybody uses them. if everybody and their uncle was using them like they were for a little while there, then i could understand your problem.

Fear not Litians, I'm going to improve my dolly some and then resurrect it, as soon as I get tired of this av.. which will probably not take long.

actually, it's me wearing my new sunglasses (armless ones that clip to me nose), the leather trench coat i want, and sporting my gun of choice, the Walther P99 9mm.

the thing started out as a dollie of Obi-Wan i found somewhere. then i gave him blonde hair and a light purple saber (my color). next i turned him into a drow elf (black skin, white hair), lengthened his hair, and gave him twin scimitars, making him into Drizzt Do'Urden, my favorite fantasy character. i next did a number of variations on the two of those, such as Jedi me with a double bladed saber and me w/ a green robe and scimitars. then i spent a little time and reworked him to hold a gun. with a little time and effort (and a shit-load of help from Myst), he went from having one gun to having two, then to having twin Walthers, next to a flowing trenchcoat, a more detailed and better looking coat (which Myst did, really), then finally to a gun and a detonator control thingy in one hand instead of one of the Walthers.

it took about a month to get from Obi-Wan to the various variations of Jedi and Drow, then another month to get from original freelance assassin to the one with the detonator (the step after this one).

so don't any of you get all fuckin' pissy with me b/c it's a dollie! i put a fuck load of time and effort and thought into this badass, and i don't like it when people knock what i put a lot of time and effort and thought into!
