For MG

*edits birthday wish list*

They aired Wyrd Sisters and Soul Music some years ago on swedish TV4. I had them on tape, but lost them. :(

I wish, wish, WISH TP would write more about the witches and less about Rincewind and Johnny and Mort and whatevertheirnamesare.

There's no-one cooler than Nanny Ogg!

I started the first book, The Colour of Magic, but just could not get into it by 50 pp. However, on someone's recommendation I began Mort next and utterly love it. Delicious reading, wit and irony. Binky! But I'll be so disappointed if I try another in the series and find it as boring as the first.

Read Wyrd Sisters, Perdyamouya! Then move on to Witches Abroad, Lords & Ladies, Maskerade, and Carpe Jugulum.

I just finished Witches Abroad for... the 5th time, maybe?

They are much funnier than the other books. I didn't like Moving Pictures very much, but Small Gods was OK. Equal Rites was so-so.

The only other title in the series that actually features Death is "Reaper Man". Death decides to retire, with hilarious consequences.

Dear Svenska,
Death was in "Mort" too. I didn't know any of the TP stories had been done in movie. I've got to try to find them. After reading about these characters, though, it's hard to believe they could find actors to portray them to my satisfaction.

Who the hell could play Esmerelda Weatherwax? Gytha Ogg? Sam Vimes? Sgt Al Colon? Gaspode? Rincewind the Wizzard? Carrot Ironfoundersson? The dwarfs? Angua the Werewolfess? Nobby Nobs? Greebo? The Librarian? Archchancellor Mustrum Ridcully? The Bursar?

MG
Ps. I'm reading "Carpe Jugulum" for about the fifth time.
Pps. Yes, I read the latest book about the Nac Mac Feegle. It's not bad, but it's sort of directed towards kids.
Ppps. I did change my location
<------------- over there.

Flicka, I got Wyrd Sisters today, will keep a list of all these recommendations (keeps me from guilt about not writing, almost).

And to think that is was *** I *** who introduced Svenska to Terry Pratchett's novels. <sigh> What would you people do without me?
With all due humility,

They're cartoons maths, and not at all as you picture them, don't watch it.

Gauche

As Gauche said, they're cartoon miniseries. I think they were pretty good though. They did Wyrd Sisters and also Soul Music, which IMO worked better. Features Death in a major role, voiced by Christopher Lee. That can't be all bad.

Sgt Al Colon?
Ain't that Fred Colon?

/Ice - reading Night Watch at the moment

Hmmm... wonder what roles he would have played, if he had been an actor in Hollywood today.

A villain in Days of our lives, perhaps?
