In light of Flame's comments, this thread is devoted to lovers. Post your sappy, mushy, syrup in this thread.

No analysis. No ribbin'. Share your unedited, best Harlequin-inspired verse here. We all have written them. I bet even UP. Lighten up and scribble a few lines of nonsense. I'm gonna share mine. :)

Peace,

daughter

What? Where's our romantics

Okay. Here's my cliche, sappy, "how I love you" poem. Yep, I like it, too. Who says daughter doesn't like old-fashion, heart wrenched poetry? :)

I

let me inhale your scent
perfume my thoughts
gently place my hand
against that
place which
beats for me

i will stand still
in your presence
in your embrace
i'll reside
be me
be yours
be true

in our world
there is
no distance
sight unseen
our hearts know
truth

drift then
my sweet
sleep
let me
lullaby your senses.

II

i am hear
listening
your heart is
my beat
let us
slow dance on
moments' clouds

at home
we cry
tears of
joy
pure bliss
our heaven
is perfect love

we are our
own music
we create
a safe place
our melodies
lullaby
our senses.

III

the sun rises
and its rays
like your love
warms me
how can that be
too bright

your eyes
say how much
you love me
with you
i know i am
protected

in my eyes
you see my
desire
for you
how i love
to laugh
with you
share my
all with you
sometimes filled
with tears
then i
find my comfort
with you

my sweet
we are Constant
what then do
we need to
continue
except to
say
allow me
to lullaby
your senses.

IV

i will cradle you
gently in my arms
like a harp
your heartstrings
sing
on love's wings
we rise
we soar

a man who
knows himself
allows himself
to be caressed
by the music
in his woman's touch
her melody
keeps him strong

i am your dove
and you
my olive branch
together we
are harmony

in your eyes
i see heaven
and we rejoice
we are home
please, my
love
lullaby my senses.

Her

"Her"

As I hold her in my arms,
and look into her eyes.
It almost takes my breath away,
as I imagine the rest of our lives.

As I hold her and kiss her goodnight,
I'm afraid to let go, fearing it's a dream.
Lying beside her, I'm afraid to sleep,
'cause if I awake and she's gone I would scream.

The more I learn about her,
as a person, I've come to know.
The more I find I long for her,
unleashed feelings, I watch grow.

As I live without her,
I find happiness and contentment, beyond my grasp.
Because without her there is no meaning,
to this, the role I was cast.

Now when I think about her,
together I know we will be.
Because I can't imagine, without her.
It would mean, the death, of me.

Romantic Times

What a wonderful idea, Daughter, to post a thread for lovers.

I have fallen quite hard for my LDR man, and reading your words (and Shameless') hit right to my heart! Thank you both.

For Jenny and her Man

#72

he doesn't know my name,
his eyes i have never seen.
still his voice lulls me,
his words-- his touch,
our souls embrace.

don't know his favorite color
but in my mind he bleeds,
in my heart he beats.

my name is unimportant;
his visions, i have seen.
his chords are my voice,
my ethchings-- his caress,
our souls embrace.

he doesn't know my favorite color;
still in his mind, i am his pulse.
i course through his veins.

across space we come;
our name is one,
we are passion,
our souls embrace.

***Man, the stuff we write when we're in love.

Shame

Someone else's whispers

Do not whisper to me
with someone else’s lips
I’d rather you stumble on a
thousand I love you’s.
Than recite a wondrous sonnet
written for someone else

Praise me not with famous quotes
form one to another.
Your smile when I walk into the room
Is praise enough for a lifetime.

Spend not the time
wandering rows of cards
finding the one that say’s what you feel
just tell what you feel
find ink and pad
and tell me

Tell me that
while thousands were wonderful
and all shared your passion and love
with all words true
not one,
not one in thousands
was close enough, or deep enough
to show me what you feel
just that thought on a pad would do

who you are, is everything I need.

U.P. begrudgingly adds his signature.

While that one was poor, this is worse

This is wonderfully cathartic, I must go further back to my teen years.

Hallmark

Like something on a greeting card
and not just from my heart
I find words here for you my love
written for someother love
if any love at all.

But the words all deep and glossy
seem to say exactly what I feel
and I who thought my feelings unique
in depth and touch and feel.

Like something from a greeting card
I give these words to you
And though they'll be given countless time
they'll never be more true.

You may find them surrounded by roses
and superimposed over fields
but know that they first came from my heart
with depth and touch and feel.

:p

Uh, uh, Babe

UP--

I knew under the gruff was a hot-blooded lover. You can scribble on my pad anytime. Don't tell D, though. She'll be jealous. :D

IF

IF

If mine could be the fingertip
to brush away your tears
My shoulder the one you cry on
Find comfort against your fears
My arms the one's you'd be safe in
over countless years
If I could be the one you confide in
and when you're silent, the one who hears

If we could be together,
if only for a moment in time
my eyes would see only yours
and yours would only see mine
My lips would taste only pleasure
And my ears hear only song
The rest of the world could go to hell
extend the moment twice as long

My heart would know contentment
and my mind would be at ease
If only life were so simple
and my troubles such as these

Getting the tissues out!

I must really be in love! I'm reading all these lovely words, and they are bringing tears to my eyes! Not sad ones, but tender, soft ones.... Maybe my heart will help my fingers write one of my own, but for now ... all your words have touched me. (I almost hear violins in the background!)

Thanks Daughter, Shameless and Unmasked Poet... sniff...

It's all good, Jenny

My love put it on me so tough, I was cranky out more sap than a real Maple. :D

Love is grand.

Peace,

daughter

no lovers in the house

Folks we freely post about bumpin' and grindin', but no one wants to share their romantic verse?

Maybe, you're just busy with the holiday stuff. :(

Hope somebody finds a minute to profess their love.

Peace,

daughter

Lovers Embrace
by debbiexxx

All over the world lovers embrace
Whether the act be sexy and slow
Different positions; face to face
A lover on top and the other below

It could be quick and frantically
By the moonlight or under sunlight
Slow and definitely romantically
In the morning, afternoon or midnight

On a clear summer's day just dawning
A pleasurable moment seeking to find
Or by a fire on a midwinters evening
Lover's embrace with one thing in mind

To make long hot sex to one another
Or to make it a quickie, or to tease
To enjoy the pleasure of your lover
Making love till an orgasm; to please

Words are sometimes few or nothing said
Wherever, whenever or whatever place
Making love on the grass or a soft bed
All over the world lovers do embrace

drivel in rhyme

open my doors
as you open my thighs
expand my heart
as you knot the ties
bind me to you
as you strenthen your will
make me cum
then feel me still
direct my path
and light my way
adore me lover
and I will stay
------------------------------------------

<grin> daughter....how's that for heart drivel..and cliche
<rolling my eyes at myself.....and sending a kiss to my heart anyway>

wet thighs and white t-shirts,
perky

How's this for sap ...

"When we're apart"

My eyes shed a tear when you're not near
my heart held in a grip of fear
if I lose you I've lost all that's dear

I long just to make you smile
to call you mine, if just for a while

To keep you safe in my embrace
my arms entwined about your waist

I feel your sorrow like a knife in my heart
oh how I hate when we're apart

pancakes come with the syrup

perky---

Uggg! I'm diabetic. Are you guys trying to kill me? Heheheehehehe.

Very cool, poets. Thanks for being able to laugh at yourselves. Any love how perky ripped my sap? I can't believe she didn't like it. ;)

Peace,

daughter

Connected

So many things
that I want to say
I question it all
but it won't go away

Caught upon this amazing ride
feelings so strong
they refuse to subside

Recycled emotions
all well and true
Know you this
this one's all you

To tell how we met
will make quite a tale
the depth of our feeling
the odds we may fail

So hard to believe
as if in a dream
deleriously happy
but you know what I mean

I'm happy and
you're the reason why
I'll love you till I die

And when I'm gone
from the heavens above
I'll watch over you
and keep you safe in my love

Sniff...

Grabbing another box of tissues....
You folks are so tender, and sweet, and romantic! sniff..

For the "Fair Maiden" in all of us as we await our "Knight in Shining Armour". (a play on words with armor and amour. lol) Happy loving!

Fair lady, thy heart filled with gold
Beseech me, hold me, take my hand outstretched
For in the morning when orange sun lays claim
Your ruby lips upon my chest so taut.

Let me feel all that surrounds your gaze
Cast not the shadows from nights past flame
For when I return, thy hand shall be mine
My lover, fair beauty, with the heart of gold.

Are we lovers?
Do we mix and meld?
Are our hearts joyous?
Do we crave one another?

What are lovers?
If they do not touch?
What are emotions?
If they are not expressed?

Are we not Lovers?

Hello fellow romantics

This rolled from my heart just the other day, as the words of a warm message ignited that passion one feels for another's soul.
It's brevity is due to the urgency I felt to post it before she left the GB.

My gift...

My gift to you
Costs me nothing.
My skin
My smile
They are yours.

I breathe your name,
There is no effort.
My heart beats,
Your memory lives in each pulse.
The essence of your love...
Is life.
