Sorry for not answering earlier.

I used that analogy without thinking much about it, it being used quite often by some people back home.
One couldn't walk past construction sites without hearing whistling or all sorts of rough or lewd comments. We also shared the prejudice, I'm afraid, that they tended to be quite rough and treated women poorly.

I can't back out of it and deny that I didn't hold some prejudice against people who went into that trade back home. But my prejudice was with regards to their attitude towards women, just like I'm similarly prejudiced against Police personel here.

But a few months later it all started with a joke that someone made about my communication style, then it evolved into kidding around with a certain poster which was fun. Until he got quite rude one night, so I tried to get him off my back by claiming that I was a man who was trying to catfish him.
Their initial consternation was priceless and funny, but eventually it sunk in that it was tongue in cheek.

That was my undoing, unfortunately, because whereas most normal posters who read that interaction were able to put my comment into context, the slower ones who take things literally weren't able to. So that became their gold standard and proof that I'm a man who's trying to catfish the GB men. Leading to the most bizarre trolling and accusations that I ever witnessed. There's a reason why Emerson quotes my post but with no link attached, because any sensible person could figure out the context.
What a load of nonsense!

But I and others were similarly accused of being "racists" over the most trivial things that were misinterpreted.

I still haven't sussed out if those who are doing such things really believe these accusations because they aren't able to place things into context, or if they're doing it on purpose.

Ya about you or not doesn't matter, doesn't help either to appear evasive.

What you mostly wrote at the beginning I can understand and relate. Only you must understand playing such a game - as opposed to other types of games - on this kind of website (or in this context) is dangerous grounds. It is our gender related needs/wants that draw us here, and that was a game not to play.

You don't do a great job erasing all doubt either... .

I suggest you post the link to that thread, since you say Emerson purposely did not, so that a shot at a clearer picture can be taken.

Coz if you think this matter has been settled now, it has not.
