Sorry for not answering earlier.
I used that analogy without thinking much about it, it being used quite often by some people back home.
One couldn't walk past construction sites without hearing whistling or all sorts of rough or lewd comments. We also shared the prejudice, I'm afraid, that they tended to be quite rough and treated women poorly.
I can't back out of it and deny that I didn't hold some prejudice against people who went into that trade back home. But my prejudice was with regards to their attitude towards women, just like I'm similarly prejudiced against Police personel here.
But point taken.
I appreciate your taking the time to explain and admit your prejudices.
Unlike others, i'm quite willing to admit that prejudices are fine,we all have them
Whether we admit them or not.(Life has a way of shaping us).
I will amend my statement about obese hedgehogs.... To just Hedgehogs


And next time you walk past my worksite i'll restrain myself from wolf whistling.
