That would be a hike for me--I'm in Orono. But there's some great places here, too. Ever been to Ampersand? They make wicked good blueberry muffins.

You're right--I think it was shortly after you came to Lit. Governor's makes really good blueberry pancakes/waffles, too. I'd go there today, but not sure I want to brave the sea of seniors chowing down at Gov's after church...

My daughter's coming here (from Philly) for a visit soon and I'm taking her to Freeport for the obligatory shopping spree--we'll try the cafe then.

I used to frequent the Old Town Governors on Sunday mornings...they had that breakfast special for I think $2.50 that was wonderful.

If you do visit Freeport, the Freeport Cafe is about 3 miles down route 1 from Bean. It's part of the Best Western hotel now. They always have lines outside the door after about 8am. I usually go at 6:30. Wonderful food, great prices.
